This is my first attempt at a time lapse and, with the insane skies we've been having lately in Massachusetts, tonight was as good a night as any to give it a try.

My only regret was I didn't start filming earlier and get more of the crimson clouds. I was busy taking still shots of all the clouds (which, of course, I could have done after setting up the time lapse camera first!)

Oh well. Lesson learned.

And I'll definitely try this again. Hopefully tomorrow.

took lizziemackie's "dune dancing", edited and inverted and smacked it on top of jordan's "night lights". the result is this eerie little thing that's both ghostly and uplifting at the same time.

second attempt uploading this. learned a thing today: it's apparently better to use "quicktime conversion" rather than simply exporting a final cut document as a quicktime movie. i didn't know the difference before, but turns out the difference is about 450MB in this particular file's case.. which would explain the ridiculous file size of everything i've ever exported (facepalm).

anyway this is my first video i've posted through doing work on this wonderful internet web site, so i hope you enjoy it.

Late last night in front of them REC room Tarin taped me doing some dancing with my bowler hat for the Dance Dance repetition collaboration.

Filmed some dance moments for the Dance Dance Collab, this particular one is a girl dancing on pointe :) I know this is a bit on the late side but I think it works really nicely with the beat of the song. Pay no attention to where the song falls in line with the video, I couldnt figure out how to select the portion of the song I wanted so I just begins from the beginning, so feel free to cut this up and paste it back together :)

I'd like to think of this as hitRECord's first unofficial sneaker commercial. I think it has that kind of vibe to it.

There's quite a bit of REmixing done to the original resources here. I played around with the sequential storyline to the dance video and edited to the music of thesherbethead (which I also had to REmix quite a bit - including shedding the brilliant "Alice" sample that just didn't fit into this.)

This was a lot of fun to do and I really like the last few moments quite a bit. There's just something really cool about the way the two dancers acknowledge one another. I played with the footage ever so slightly during that interaction, which is pure magic.

I RECorded this video (poor quality, sorry!) of the children drumming, singing, and dancing on the last day I was at the orphanage in Zambia. This is after about 45 minutes of singing before the start of school, it is wonderful how much they incorporate art in every single thing they do.

One of my most treasured memories I have involves sitting out on the porch with a few of these children, swapping each others song repertoire, belting them out into the night, and using the cement as our drum beat. Amazing.

3am...test shoot for a series of video installations where people dance to the same song. now i have to learn how to edit, as there's no shortage of volunteers to do the dancing! i'll post the song and hopefully we can get some people to send in some video footage...

A mid-July sunset in Lake George, NY. The progression of this sunset was just unreal thanks to a set of severe t-storms moving out of the area... this was phase 3 of the color series in this sunset, perhaps my favorite of all the progressions...
