A "love letter" to public transportation in cities:) I am constantly enthralled by traveling on public transportation (even though I've been doing it for years). I love watching the people and feeing connected. I especially love doing it in cities I'm visiting. This is my first attempt at filming/editing, and also mixing song and speech. This is a skill I would love to get better at, so any feedback/advice from you amazing editors out there would be much appreciated. I had a ton of fun doing this:) Fun fact!: In the shot that goes with "The Circle Line is the best" when the train is going over the river, there is a really bright light on the bridge that I was so happy about because it synced up with Tom's line about the city being a sun. That light was because Transfomers 3 was filming and evidently needed an extremely bright shot. So thanks Transformers!:) ** I'm resourcing the latest Regularity on here because of Joe's comment about making a vid for the Cities collab. Although this isn't a documentary like he was talking about, it does incorporate several of the RECords in the Cities collab.

I loved this little animation and I knew I needed to give them some sound. I had so much fun doing this. ha ha ha

Raw footage of some snow that I thought may be a good REsource for someone. I was at the Bears/Patriots game today with my husband and it was very cold and snowy the whole time. But the snow was actually beautiful so I had to get some footage of it. I was going to leave it with raw sound, but I thought PASIV's soundtrack was better than "Last call! Beer!" 

Thought perhaps it could be used to add animation to for the creation myth?

Since tori did her lovely sonnet video, and then amysz started the sonnet collab, I've been wanting to do something with this sonnet, which is my favorite.

I really hope this vid conveys the message I wanted to get across - that you are beautiful even if you're not "perfect" and you will be loved and cherished and someone will think you're perfect even if you're not a supermodel.

A big thank you to the ladies to provided REsource videos.. I know it takes a lot of courage to go on camera w/o make-up so I just wanted to say you're all gorgeous and awesome. Also, I just wanted to thank everyone who did readings for this. I really hear Shakespeare as a British male voice and although tommacarte's reading was amazing, when I made it louder it got this weird popping noise in it (probably my sound editing program).

I wanted to share a project I've been working pretty hard on for the past 12 weeks and will continue to work on for the next 6 1/2 months. It started as a REmix of REsources my husband and I contributed, but I've also been contributing more REsources with every heart-beat I have, every breath I take and every bite I eat. It should be done around August 16 :D

I know it doesn't look much like a baby here, but that bright spot on the right is its heart. We could see it beating, which was incredible (baby's not big enough to hear it quite yet, but soon). So according to the definition RegularJOE uses in his interview RECord (REsourced below), he or she is already RECording, and has been for about 7 weeks. So strange and awesome to consider that I have two hearts beating within me - mine and someone else's.

Tried my hand at editing the 12 min. raw footage RegularJOE uploaded. Got it down to just over 2 min. Hope it's "snappy and watchable" :)

I actually had the idea to put this, along with other videos of people taking off make up (reversals of the getting ready vids?) or the REsources used in Phen's video http://www.hitrecord.org/records/346766, on the monitors MattConley RECorded (kinda like in this RECord by iamcharlie http://www.hitrecord.org/records/304918) but I don't have the equipment.... perhaps someone wants to REmix?

As I did the voice over for JulesKD's season tiny stories, I found myself imagining visuals for it. So I REmixed some to fit:)

I loved becoming's remix of the train footage w/ thoughts about a relationship so I used that format for this:)

I love the creation myth project and I want to contribute to it, but I have no skill when it comes to drawing, photoshop, animation, etc. BUT I can collect and organize:)

There have been so many wonderful images coming out of the a new hevn collab, I decided to make a "story board" video of all of them together (inspired by paperlilies's story board illustrations) along with alpal's "uni-voice" readings.

I took all the image pieces I could find (thank you to Danah for making an album with nearly all the image REsources in it! If I didn't add in your image, I'm really sorry, I just didn't see it). If the image had a line or verse in the description, I used it there; if not I put it where it seemed most appropriate (but any of them certainly could be moved elsewhere).

I think the best thing to take from this is the areas where the story doesn't have very many images --- perhaps people who are good and talented at drawing/painting/graphic designing (who I'm so jealous of) can add to those places:)

Thanks to my husband for taking over RECording when I went up to sing:) I don't know why I didn't take up my still camera that also can RECord short video to get another angle. Doh.

And, Joe, I'm sorry I didn't acknowledge you at all when you pointed me out as I came up. I honestly didn't hear it until I watched this video. So a belated "hi!" and wave:)

I've been dying to do a 30 second or less video like HelloLindsayyyyyy's SITC one. So this was the perfect chance, and it was so much fun to make. I did a mash-up of both shows together...

I considered not putting in the part at the end about Haus of Glitch (and Jess_Laine's) creeper dance cuz it really wasn't part of the "show." But my favorite part of hitRECord events is getting to hang out with my fellow RECorders from around the country and have fun. So I left it in :) (And perhaps this dance SHOULD be part of a show in the future. It's pretty amazing.)

I could not stop laughing at Sara's little clip of Jeremy saying "Oh, I'm just chillin' bein' sexy" so I had to do something with it:) This may be one of my favorite things I've made. I love you Jeremy!!!

How exactly did THIS happen?:)

I was doing some readings of Barefoot Crazy when all of a sudden it started to seem like a song to me. I took a break and was looking at other RECords when I saw MeganCarnes's The Scar ... et voila! Suddenly they fit perfectly together and I had some showtune-sounding thing.

One concern is that I know the vocals don't blend very well with the instrumental in some parts. Maybe a better sound recorder could help? Vocal stems are here as a REsult.

It's a long story how this started, but this is a video of Haus_of_Glitch and JessLaine creepin' around my husband (most random description of a RECord I've ever had).

(Jer asked me to upload this so we could make creeper dance videos. HA HA HA)

Well, this project I've been working on for the past 8 months is getting close to being done. Here she is in a "3D ultrasound" at 33 1/2 weeks.

Today (7/27) is my one year hitRECord Anniversary... I know it sounds cliche, but I honestly can't believe it's only been a year. I have learned, loved, laughed so much with new friends, new confidence and pride, new horizons. Thank you to everyone who has made this year with hitRECord so magical <3

I had so much fun doing this! I even got to mix in my Twitter invite for Haus_of_Glitch to be my sweetheart (he said yes:)

It made me so excited for the show.... that's still a month away :/ Gahhhh, how am I going to wait??!!

I've loved this Tiny Story since I first read it... then came cat-cat's illustration and animation, which are both wonderful:)

I decided to add some music and bumpers to make it a little more complete. I'm really happy with the way the REsources all came together for this one:)

A first draft of a video compiling several of the RECords from the Occupy collab so far.

I LOVE that wirrow added videolala to the collab. It's really the perfect song for this movement. I chose to do this more music video style to let the lyrics speak for themselves. Anyway, I hope this can be useful as part of a bigger piece or perhaps to give someone else an idea:) Already I've seen a bunch more RECords that could be added. Also, I was trying to figure out how to make the O in occupy at the end look like a RECord button and I couldn't :( 

I sure hope I got all the image REsources. Let me know if I missed anything.

When I told my husband about being up on stage at the URI show, he asked why and I said, "To talk about loops" and he said, "Like the Chicago Loop?" Why I never thought of Re:Loops in that context before I have no idea, but once he said that I couldn't stop thinking about how to do something for it. 

The Chicago Loop is the downtown area of Chicago and it's called that because the EL makes a Loop around that area. So it's literally a loop and also the ride of someone taking the train to work day in and day out can be a metaphorical loop. 

This is a version 1/rough draft. I'd really like to get shots of people entering/exiting the train at rush hour, the crowd at rush hour, more shots of people waiting with the Loop signs, people walking up/down the stairs in front of the Loop signs on the stairs. Oh, and quality audio of the announcements like, "An inbound train, toward the Loop will be arriving shortly" and "This is a Brown (or Purple or Green or Pink or Orange) Line train toward the Loop" so they can be mixed in with the audio track. Also, I still can't figure out how to show the train is actually looping. I tried to show the places where it curves but it still doesn't convey that it's making a circle. I'd need some sort of overhead shot, maybe? or maybe there's another way? MeganCarnes suggested showing the map, which may work, but I wonder if it's copyrighted?

And I resourced my text RECord when I was coming up with ideas for this because the conversation really helped me think of some directions to go in.

Brookduckart made the AWESOME #1 puppet, FallingAlice came up with the idea and puppeteered, KevinMaistros and I shot it, and Moonbug, OnLy_aMy, Catcheth, FallingAlice, KevinMaistros, WriterGirl811, ellieyah, _hayling, Romana_Clef acted and this is what happened.
