Wanted to do something new for the Stitchtown collaboration!
A reading of moonbug's The Way The Story Goes along with Klosinski's animations and Todd68976's Bees and Birds!
Anyone up for making a "Stitchtown" title bumper?!
<3
First draft. I watched this with my eyes crossed.
Look Further.
<3
The first draft of my twist on Tyger Tyger by William Blake. As I was making the video I couldn't get the voice overs to flow with the visuals, so I ended up whsipering the poem. I am still not 100% happy at it, but maybe this will give people an idea of what was going on inside my head, and voice overs can be tailored to suit!
Thanks once again to MattConley, master editor
More distortion, sorted out a few hiccups here and there. More jellyfish.
Draft 1. My first attempt at putting some visuals to the wonderful music of tonguecutsparrow, and one of my favourite songs in the world right now.
<3
Possibly the most interesting parcel I have EVER received! Jordyn, you are crazy!! Thank you! I have no idea what the hell I am going to do with my new "friends"!!!
WARNING: I don't want anyone to be offended, so I tell you now, there are stuffed animals in this video. They are hilarious, but I understand if people don't want to see them, so just heads up!! ^___^
<3
I felt like I hadn't done some visuals in a while ^__^
It was Burns Night here yesterday, so I wanted to try cutting something to a Robert Burns poem. This is a very sweet, sad song, but when I put it to PASIV's music on the offchance, it gave the words bitter, desperate edge (no offence PASIVo, your music is not desperate and bitter!).
<3
PS: Lyrics
Uploaded the wrong one! ^__^
Again, the audio has gone a bit fuzzy! Boo.
Used Sarah's video as a basis, along with My Life In Picture's wonderful VO of NoemieB's text and PASIV's atmospheric music
<3
Happy Valentine's Day NomiTran! <3
I thought I would release something emotional, since it's been a while ^___^
Happy Valentines to all of you. I love you all just as much on February 14th as I do every other day of the year...except on the 14th I might buy you an overpriced teddybear just to prove it ^___^
<3
30 going on AWESOME <3
Cacheth suggested a reading of Sarah's poem "Dear Autocrat" to the "Tamquam Reus". I stumbled upon the comment and had to give it a go.
"I will not give up," said Gaddafi.
"Neither will we," said the Libyan people.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this.
Think the visuals still need work, but this is the first draft!
Thank you to phen for her wonderful words, and Metaphorest and Pasiv for their wonderful musical musings :)
<3
You remember playing hide and seek,
Running in a tiny apartment.
Adventure courses full of spiders’ webs.
Smart tricks to avoid a kiss on the lips.
The kid pretending to be Superman, his towel
Tied around his neck and some
Sunglasses on his nose.
Tea spoons from the wedding set
Which all ran away in the trash one day,
Quotes, now famous: “Do you want a Malbo light?”
Never-ending giggles.
Anonymous postcards.
Candy blackmails just because you refused to play a game.
This is your childhood.
Because of the years and distance, you’ve grown apart.
But most of the time you’ll meet again for a communion, a wedding,
A funeral.
Sometimes, you have to start from the very first step, as if you
Were facing a stranger.
Your memories aren’t theirs; and he’s already a man,
She’s already a woman.
They travel to Africa, to Austria.
They want to save lives, from hunger or from flames.
They believe their desires are reality,
So you become a dreamer at your turn.
Then you realise that “it’s all or nothing.”
When it appears you got nothing, it’s life,
But it doesn’t mean you love them less than before.
It’s just, now, you admire them from afar.
It’s your blood.
Or the souvenirs of an old friendship that we wanted to preserve.
But whether the relation is obvious or not,
It’s family.
And this is exactly why this is so beautiful.
Thank you to Cinammon for writing such beautiful words, recording a beautiful VO and generally inspiring this whole thing. Merci merci merci <3
In March 2011, London based artist wirrow released his latest work, dreamdreamdream. Met with critical acclaim, the story behind the song, however, has been largely a mystery.
Until now.
With unprecedented access to original recordings and never before seen footage, Pamagotchi Productions reveals the true meaning this audio masterpiece, and the lengthy struggle by artists all over the world to bring it to the masses.
Hanging out with trees and ospreys today. This footage is meant for something completely different, but JeffPeff's remix of Wanderer got me thinking...
<3
Version 1 of a visual remix of tommacarte's "Summer in Spain". This one is a bit...breathy and soft..kinda melodramatic. But it is the first take that came to me when I was working on this poem. I am working on another version which incorporates Tom's awesome reading, but I just wanted to get this out there to get some feedback. Also...can anyone recommend some more appropriate guitar footage? Preferably of an acousitc guitar?
<3
...Quite literally. My dad was asked to take part in a medieval reenactment...so he borrowed one of those suits of armour you find in the hallways of stately homes [from his friend who owns one of those stately homes]. None of this lightweight plastic aluminium armour for him. He's wearing chainmail too.
My dad is a hero. He likes to pretend he's sensible, but, inside, he's 64 going on 20.
<3
OK, here is v.2 of the visual remix to Tommacarte's poem. This time, I have changed the guitar music (still from musopen.org), ironed out/added some visuals and added Tom's reading of the poem!
Again, comments and con-crit would be much appreciated! I keep seeing things I would like to tweak, so would appreaciate any feedback!
<3
Thought I would try a bit of a different format! Apologies for the length.
<3
PS: my my, what an unattractive freezeframe that is.
I really wanted to put some visuals to tori's wonderful poem, but from the perspective of the girl herself, as if she was looking back/looking down on happier times, and the days/moments leading up to the moment where she decided to take her life.
I hope this does these wonderful words justice
<3
Just wanted to film the lovely blossom we have at the mo, then popped some music on it, then this happened. oh well! might be useful for stock footage i thought, although apologies for the crappy quality, i only have my phone camera :-(
<3
This is home ^__^
This is also basically me trying to get to grips with my new camera and iMovie ^__^
Apologies if you are finding this stuttery....HitRECord wouldn't let me upload the larger, higher quality file, so I had to format it like this which I think makes it quite sticky on some computers :-/
<3
Nope :-/
Still not entirely sure why I can't get these videos to export in good quality from iMovie :-/ kinda sad how this turned out, definitely not my finest bit of recording :-/
Inspired by phen's wonderful gratitude RECord...it inspired me to finish this video for the "I Love" collaboration, speak about what I am grateful for [nowhere near as eloquently as phen can!!] and generally just spread the love.
After making this, I realise that in the spur of the moment there are so many things I have left out!! I could have made a full length movie....so I am just going to RECord them here:
I love Italy
I love smells
I love horses
I love HitRECord
I love high heeled shoes
I love twirly skirts
I love romance
I love movies that make you cry
I love movies that make you laugh
I love the feel of grass under bare feet
I love hands.
I love YOU.
<3
PS: have i mentioned how much i love cheese?
The closest thing to a HitRECord RickRoll.
YOU'VE BEEN HESHERED!
ShitRECord.
<3
[PD record scratch sound effect from partnersinrhyme.com]
I loved cam_4's video of shwoing how she makes her squinks, so I just added some silly voices/sounds :) if you have ever watched MioMao you will know the kind of thing I am going for ^___^
<3
Happy Friday 13th!
So, I was very excited to hear about the up and coming HitRECord vinyl: alas, I am no good at drawing, so I decided to channel my excitement into a visual record: an ad, inspired by the HitRECord merchandise record by Matt Conley.
I got this far with the video..however I have come to a bit of creative crossroads..so I thought I would throw it up here and see if you guys can help me out!
I wanted to combine old PD clips with records of HR musicians doing their thing. Now, I think this clip might be a bit PD heavy [having trouble downloading and using Windows Media files in iMovie..anyone know of a solution/converter?], so I think it definitely use some more musicians strutting their stuff.
I also think it really needs some kind of voice over...I have taken clips from PD videos at the beginning, but think there needs to be more of an "Ad V.O" in a similar style going on throughout the clip...?
Yeah, so basically, I have put it up here for you all to play with. Feel free to chop and change anything you like, I would be really interested to see what people come up with!
Thaaaanks!

Version 2 of the Living Sound advert for the new HitRECord vinyl! Thanks to Matt Conley who gave me some tips on taking this ad to the next stage.
I have shortened down the advert to more of a teaser, and added more voice over clips from Marke and Joe's Vinyl intro video.
Again, thoughts and suggestions on how to improve this would be much appreciated!
Thank you!

Another little project I have been working on. I wanted to make a sort of teaser trailer for the RECollection/WREC radio...give the idea of what is gonna be going on without giving too much away. Have arrived at the good ol' creative crossroads again, and thought I would stick this version up here to get an idea of what could be improved, whether I should go back to the drawing board...
I'm limited by the software I have available...I would love to make the visuals a bit more chaotic like the soundtrack!
Review, Rethink and Remix away!
<3
PS: I used lots of audio resources, so if you think I missed you, let me know!
An unexpected visitor!
<3
I am very excited this evening.
So is my hair.
<3
PS: yes, you're right. there are 11 re-recs. And I managed to cut out the "really x 4"...so now it just looks like I "really x 100" can't count.
Archive Footage used:

"Visit London - Street Stories" http://www.archive.org/details/VisitLondon-StreetStories
"God Save the Queen" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:United_States_Navy_Band_-_God_Save_the_Queen.ogg
This could use some jazzy titles!
<3
So, I am really gutted about this because I had all these grand plans and for some reason my internet has failed and won't let me download all the resources I wanted to use :-( so I just had to use what I had.
I figured I would put this up anyway almost like a "storyboard", to give the idea of what I was trying to get at. :-/
In happier news, my BritRECord journey begins tomorrow! Eeeeee..<3
PS: gahhh it's not letting me resource! will do it as soon as i can! apologies
Sorry it's so long!
A lot of hyper and a lot of love.
And umming.
Thank you for an incredible weekend. Until next time!
<3
An idea that came to me at work...i guess it sorta ends up like a teaser trailer.
Still buzzing.
<3
PS:Hooray 400th RECord! <3
PPS: I am trying to resource but HR/my internet is being really slow so apologies if I don't resource you immediately..it will be done, I promise!
Raw footage!

I know Lawire has put this into his Spooky Little Film collab, but Phen's poem was the first thing that came to mind as I watched this...<3
A very very short snippet of Edinburgh's Fringe Festival. I thought the PhenCutSparrow [see what i did there?!] quotation went very well with it!
Also I got so distracted by the performers that I forgot to actually film things!
"Here is where chaos blooms
And the stars collide"
2 days of planning, 24 hours of downloads and 3 days of editing and here we are!
This is draft 1 of my re:Cities remix. I wanted to make it seem cohesive, but also leave it open ended enough so that it could promote discussion and debate, rather than being the final version of the results of the collab. I think so much more could be incorporated into this, so I would reallllyyy appreciate any feedback you guys could give me! Good or bad ^__^
Please be patient with me as I try to find all the records I use...it could take a while!!
<3
I love you guys, and I am so very proud of what this community has achieved.
Thank you for inspiring me every day to just do stuff and try new things!!
<3
PS: I did not eat the whole rooster.
After 1 year and 10 days away in Japan, my little brother finally came home today! I managed to get some [very shaky with excitement] footage of the airport and seeing him. I am so happy this evening..I cannot believe it has been a year! He hasn't changed at all...but he has..but he hasn't...you know what I mean?!
<3
So, here is v.2 of Circolare!
Thank you all so much for the feedback on v.1: I would love to be able to add a lot more effects in [e.g redheadmonster suggested overlaying the wirrow paper effect onto it, but i just don't have the software :(] but I thought this might make a starting point for others to build on this.
I used some Archive footage of hearts and circulation, but i think it might be qiute nice to extend this out and include images of HitRECorders, more footage of us doing our thing? Also, I warped my voice a little ^__^
So yeah, again it would be great to hear people's feedback on this!
<3
This is the poem "My Love is Like a Red Red Rose"by Robert Burns set to the traditional tune.
Love can be beautiful and strange and exciting, but it is also about sacrifice. Love is knowing there will be obstacles, and being determined to overcome them. Love is going to the ends of the earth and back again, or down the street to the corner shop. Love encompasses all extremes, all highs, all lows, all directions, all emotions.
Love can be painful: but with it's pain it brings hope, determination and courage.
[I have a bit of a croaky voice at the moment, sorry the singing/harmonies aren't great >.<]
<3
Added some silly little noises and jonthewallflower's ukulele piece ^__^
<3
I am off to Glasgow for the weekend so won't be around on Sunday to do my ReRECs..so here is a Friday ReREC!
This week, we go to the mysterious ReREC Island to discover strange and unique RERECUS SUNDAYUS!
I went for David Attenborough, and came out sounding more like Albus Dumbledore. DA --> AD.
One of my favouritest performances of the night!
<3
When I first saw this, I thought about Sarah's July Lullabye record: the idea that the clown represents some sort of innocence, a time of days gone by...he is locked away in a little corner of your brain hoping not to be forgotten.
I like how his conducting and leg wobbling synched up rather nicely with the music!
<3
My cousin and I decided to have some fun today and film a tiny film! Voila the result ^__^
I would have loved to do a cooler effect for when his hair blew away...but don't have the software..anyone have any ideas?!
<3
PS: Yup, definitely spelled "visuals" wrong.
Halloween? More like Hallo-waffle-about-my-childhood! ^__^
Woo! It finally uploaded!
Was inspired to put together some visuals for Phen's poem that really hit home for me...and after 3 days it has finally uploaded!
Won't let me resource at the moment, will try again in a bit!
<3
Was inspired by MelonBerri's beautiful drawing to play around with facepaint/what I had lying around! <3
A Story in Wishes
When I made the request for 11/11/11 wishes, I genuinely thought I would have a handful of responses to play around with in the short time I had available. To my utter delight, nearly 90 responses later, I have cut together what I hope is a fitting tribute to the words and wishes of a varied and talented group of HitREcorders.
In the end, the success was my downfall: I simply didn't have enough time to fully carry out the idea I had in the short space of time. But the more I edited the wish videos, the more I realised that in fact the videos speak for themselves: they speak of hope, courage, remembrance, sadness, fear, happiness, determination. My little collage, my little fingerprint in bringing you all together in a single picture became an after thought.
To everyone who contributed, my very deepest thanks. Your courage and inspiration were truly wonderful to work with.
My 11/11 wish is for this community to keep spreading it's wings, and to forever endeavour to create, achieve and inspire.
I hope that, even in some small measure, all your wishes come true <3
PS: on a lighter note, I hope no one is creeped out by my red stained hands [paint] and the fact that I have lots of your faces on a wall gathered round a bright red circle! <3
PPS: currently trying to resource LOTS of names, some of whom sent videos by email and I wasn't sure of their HitREcord name. If you sent me a video and don't see a resource, please let me know! I used every single one I received :D <3
A little video about the planning and making and crazy 48 hours leading up to the eleven eleven eleven video...and some fantastic clips from Wishes that weren't in the video :D
<3
Turned out really low res for some reason, don't know why...excuse my grainy face!

Friday, 16th December, my brother commissioned from the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, and became 2nd Lieutenant Alan Garratt.
He was Commission 111...which i thought was symbolic :D
This is a short video of some of the action from the day: there was a lot of marching around and things, I didn't want it to get boring.
So very very proud of my big bro <3
A short film.

Trying to get into video editing again, so here we go...
ReRECS in Technicolor!
A not so serious look at some seriously good records. Seriously, these records are brilliant and remixable, and this is just a silly trailer to promote them <3
I know that the audio is out of sync with the video, and I am really sorry! But seeing as it has taken 5 hours and 2 attempts to get this to even upload o the site due to various errors on the "upload" page, I am not going to try and upload it again. I don't know what's going on, because i have just checked the file and everything is perfectly in sync!

Update: OH MY GOD I don't know what is with my MAc but either my videos are out of sync or they are tiny. APOLOGIES x

Low Res Version: the High Res version won't upload! :(
My first baby steps back into video editing...
I had an idea inspired by joerud's "What I Saw" and vatever's Universe drawing http://www.hitrecord.org/records/1166063 . bitfilm's "Stay Away" was the perfect footage for the idea I had in my head.
