I've never been to Shanghai, but it's definitely one of the top places I want to visit. I've always been intrigued by its diversity of European, Chinese, and modern architecture. I've named this "Nancy in Shanghai with Nikki" because Nikki was very kind to me in art class by letting me use her picture as a reference. She was a great teacher.

Smallcity
Hey guys. I previously started a collab that had some artwork attached that may be able to be absorbed into this one.

It was about a print I did called 'Small City'. I made it about 8 months after I moved to New York City. It was a reflection on my time here. I arrived in the city, like many who come from a smaller city, with a fair amount of intimidation about what the city had in store for me.

After a while, the excitement... fear... curiosity... all that begins to wear off, and life becomes a bit more normal again. You develop routines, familiarity, regular hangouts, etc. And the realization of all that, for me at least, was odd. It was something I was happy about, to have overcome my initial fear, but I was also a bit down about it because that exciting first kiss with the city was over.

Anyway, so thats the story behind this print. I suspect other people may be able to relate, and not necessarily with New York City specifically, but a move or change in any way...

So that's my story. Feel free to grab anything from the other collab if you see something you like. That collaboration is here: http://hitrecord.org/records/145122

Oh, and my handle is thatsthewayitgoes, but you guys can call me Derek.

Cheers,
Derek

So I don't really live in San Francisco, I live a few minutes away, but my grandpa was in a hospital over there for a few weeks, and when my family and I went to visit him, I would take pictures of people I saw walking around.

I went out today to shoot some footage for By Road (cough, shameless plug cough cough) and ended up at the house I grew up in. I grew up in the burbs and moved to the inner-city to go to Uni. I hadn't been back for eight years.

It was small, and quiet. And it hasn't changed.

This is my submission to the "RE: Cities" Collab. It's a pretty raw resource in which I call out... Where do you live? a city, a suburb a countryside... RECord it and share it by contributing to this collaboration.

A video for the Cities Collaboration for SITC.
I live in the Scottish Highlands, so I thought I would show you around. Add in some of my ramblings about cities and we have a video!

Apologies for:

a) The quality: I filmed this on my mobile phone, and the sounds goes a bit at the end, which is a bit unfortunate.

b) My appearance. That was one big-ass hill I climbed, so I look a little bedraggled..please forgive!

c) The little bug, who tried to steal the limelight around 3.05!
Lots of love,

Pamela
