it still feels a little unfinished/too silent in the beginning, but this is with pixel pilgrim's "moon eyes". I thought it kind of fit, and I quite like it :) it's the second song of hers that I've used, I just adore the quality of her voice.

first try at stop motion! um, not very good, and I was really antsy to put this up, so there are some shoddy photos in there. also, my camera crapped out on me, so there's a distinct transition in the photos. but! after rewatching a jillion times, I kind of like it now :) certainly have a new respect for people who do this all the time, that's for sure.

done for the awesome tiny story by InkedCanvas.

again, sorry for the lower quality, but if anybody wants to use this, just contact me and I can get a better quality version to you to do with as you will :)

I know all the previous results have been with girl baristas, but I loooooove guy baristas :)

ETA: THIS WOULD BE SO SUPER AWESOME IF SOMEBODY DID A KICKASS READING. sarcastic and ridiculously ridiculous. come on. I know you're out there, Ms. Awesome Narrator. oh, and some music! I'm just running off now to make dinner.

Geno's "The Talk Man" was a captivating RECord. It seemed like a fragment of a bigger story about the subject, and yet - as a viewer - we were shown a wide range of emotions in such a short amount of time.

I wanted to REmix it without the profanity, but I wanted to preserve the way i felt about the man. So I REmixed the video and the dialogue a bit into the structure of a Tiny Story. The words seem secondary to what this man says with his face.

I was inspired by the sad, black and white film by daysandhours "Sans Toi (Je ne peux pas vivre)".
And I really like bicycles. I saw Matt Conley's "A Monkey Boy's Dream" and "The Bicycle: A Tiny Story", and decided to use the footage, because I loved the grainy effect used. I thought the music by Neilhouse, "Atardecer A Caballo" fitted perfectly: simple and melancholy.

This is the first time I have ever touched a Movie Making program, so the result is pretty crude! So I really actively encourage people to play around with this, make it better!

I chose Italian because I studied it, I love it, and bicycle reminds me of the Italian film "The Bicycle Thief". Really great film. I wanted to give the bike a life, give it a personality. We abuse them, throw them around. But in the end, that is their only purpose: they wouldn't want to do anything else.

Here is a translation of the text:

- The Bicycle

- Once upon a time...

-...I was young too...

-...but now...

-...I am broken.

-From dusk...

-...till dawn...

-...you abuse me.

- But please...

-...don't leave me alone.

- The End.

Italian speakers, please let me know if I have messed up!!

Lots of love,

Pamela x

In my opinion there was really only one Video RECord that could have matched up with bmaesays's {risque} Tiny Story "He Wears a Suit," and that RECord is AvaLeFou's "West Virginia Slims."

This is essentially part cologne ad and part Tiny Story REmix.

...And another really appreciative thank you to amysz for responding to my request for a reading of the text. She did an outstanding job! And she's a great reminder of the community here. <3

This is a REmix of the Tiny Story "A is for Astronaut" by deeasherself. This Tiny Story jumped out at me because it triggered my imagination instantly: What happened to the Captain? Who is the narrator? What is the mission they are on?

What I tried to do with various editing techniques, and very novice "special effects," is to create the accident that sent the Captain into the abyss of space. The public domain footage I used didn't have any accident footage so I had to try and cut something together that resembled one. Hopefully that comes through in the video.

I adapted wirrow's "weena" and incorporated Duane's "Stupid F*&%ING LAUNDRY IN THE CHI" into the story; thus changing the name of the Tiny Story in the process.

This Tiny Story was something I wanted to adapt for quite some time and Duane's footage provided the opportunity. I was going to go into a laundromat once with my own camera but I glanced inside and get that paranoid feeling. So I put the project on the back burner until this morning.

I love the simplicity of wirrow's "weena." To me it represented frustration. When i was thinking of how to close this piece I originally thought of just cutting to black after the second-to-last shot of Duane sitting, still watching the clothes spin. But I really liked the shot of him getting his laundry out and putting it into the basket.

He had a pretty blank expression, which worked for the closing moment I was going for - which was when he gives up. His "wish" never came true and he has to deal with it. So he packs up and moves on. Defeated by reality.

Maybe I'm reaching a bit with that idea, but that's what I was going for. haha

JonMac's "tiny story - LGM" is an exceptional addition to wirrow's collab. To quote wirrow, JonMac "gets it."

When REmixing this into a video I had to take some creative liberties and REmix the actual text. It's sometimes unavoidable when it comes to a video simply due to the fact that one is constrained to available video.

But with exceptional resources like "Child's Play," it makes altering text a bit easier because the footage is very easy to incorporate into JonMac's original idea.

Without going on forever, I just wanted to add that I interpreted "LGM" to be less sci-fi and more of a poem about growing up. So much of our childhood innocence gets lost by the seriousness of being an adult. But so often we blame "society" for this. Sometimes I think we lose that innocence on our own and just don't acknowledge that possibility...

I REmixed TwistedThursday's "As One" Tiny Story into this short video. I edited some of the text a bit to fit the visuals I shot, so you'll notice it's slightly different than the REsource. What really drew me to this Tiny Story was that it really worked as a literal story (ice into water.) But I really feel that, symbolically, it speaks volumes about what some people feel about life and death - that we are reunited with those we love after this life. For the past day the story really stayed with me and it continues to affect me. I'm not really sure what TwistedThursday's original intention was with the piece (maybe literal, maybe a bit more symbolic) but what makes all art so important is that it is up to the viewer how it is interpreted. I hope TwistedThursday likes how I perceived her beautiful piece of writing.

I was gathering a few videos of some trips I made that could be used here and I came across this one (very shaky, recorded about 3 years ago). Then I listened to the wonderful melody played by Johnny 4 The City and thought they would get along together. And as a fan of tiny stories, I REmixed "Time: A Tiny Story" - written by KarizzMarie - and used (once again) Rachelb's voice.

Hope you guys like it :)

I really liked the creative directions that rachelb and nontoxiccolors were going in with regards to KarizzMarie's "Tiny Story." It's quite a piece of writing; one of longing and also one that defies the sense of time we all live by.

So it touched upon some interesting themes, something that all of the Tiny Stories do a marvelous job at. And in so very few words too. So here's my take on KarizzMarie's "Tiny Story."

It seemed to be untitled, so I named this REmix "Time: A Tiny Story."

My SD card ran out as I was shooting stream footage so I would have liked to have made the stream's journey a bit more epic (and included a waterfall nearby my apartment) but in the interest of time I used what I had. Maybe I'll REmix it again down the road...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I'm a huge fan of the Tiny Story collaboration. Such great work is coming out of it and it's wonderful to be a part of such an enormously inspiring, and fun, project.

I wanted to reflect on some of the statements that Joe made about his latest RECord, "hojoborrow re: Beginning," and create almost like a Tiny Story as a companion piece to that, and today's Regularity. Then ntheon posted "What You Take Away" while this RECord was rendering and it was interesting to see so many people involved with these ideas about meaning and creation.

Personally I think that any artistic process should be one of spontaneity. Because that's what makes it a product of the heart. The heart says things that have no endings. Just beginnings.

I had an interesting experience filming and cutting this RECord. When I shot it on my bike ride to the beach today I simply intended to do a "music video" or something straightforward. I shot all kinds of angles and scenery en route to the water and decided to wrap up the raw footage by tossing the bike to the ground and getting down to the water (keeping with the mostly first person/shadow motif.)

And I basically cut it that way too. Not much of a narrative to it, but I like to cut to music that strikes me so I was okay with the original final product.

But then I figured I'd see if any poem or quote on the site related to what I'd just put together. And there was "The Bicycle," a Tiny Story by tommacarte.

What I found particularly interesting was how the story seemed to be symbolic of not only the bike, but the rider character too. Aren't we all "chained up" inside a bit too often? Don't we get the same rush as the bike in the story gets by going down a hill? Or, in this case, reaching the ocean.

When i completed it, with tommacarte's story added to the end, I also thought of how great the ending to Coppola's "Rumble Fish" is when Rusty James makes it to the beach of California. I was very pleased to have made something today that, to me, paralleled that finale. It's one of the best endings out there if you ask me.

I love TwistedThursday's short story, I always wondered what the Princess's side of the story was, so I just wanted to play with the idea. I was also wondering if I could try a little experiment with you guys. I made this little film of mine black and white gave little detail to the environment, as a way of giving you guys the rest of control. Kind of like a big coloring book that turns in a story. You can print it out for some hand made illustrations or photoshop it. Go crazy! This is such a plain atmosphere, which is no fit for a princess add some crazy shannigans please. Make the leaves orange and pink or add a penguin with a tuxedo. Its just a small experiment of mine, and I'm curious
I added zip of the individual photos soon so you pick any moment or emotion and give it a try
Thank you♥

But anyways, here's a mesh-together of mostly_harmless' wonderful "Balloon: A Journey" and CrashAndBurn's "Red Balloon". I can't believe how well the two go together! THIS IS A ROUGH DRAFT OF A CONCEPT. If it had a rating, it would be "R" or at least a very strong NC-17 - so be forwarned!

Are the short stories you are making telling one big story? I made this film to see. For me, the answer is YES, but your opinon is what really counts

I took all the individual clips, and rearranged them into what I think is an order that makes sense - at least to me it does, and I hope you all agree! I chopped off the titles, and endings most people had added because I was trying to make a full-length feature film - and it sounds choppy because of this. Also, the video quality is not the highest, and in converting all videos to avi, I chose to use oine size, and this trimmed the space of some of the videos a little. This is not a final version by any means.

I used most of the available short stories in this, but couldn't get two in particular that I wanted to add to download properly for me: Lost Property by tLee would have gone in near the end - and forbidden love wasnt in a useable format. I tried hard because I really wanted these two in the film - they had a place.

I also excluded some videos because they really weren't short stories, or had copyright issues.

Spent this gorgeous afternoon sitting on my deck, re-reading (3rd time) gweninterrupted's Psych Ward Rockstar (Amazing) and catching some rays (hence the suit) and was surprised by all the hummingbirds around me. I never realized how tame and curious those little guys are.

Thanks to chigwinkle and thewildchild for the cheerful song and drawing of a heart, and thanks to wirrow for helping me decide to make a tiny story.

P.S. This is my first RECord and (not entirely coincidentally) my first stop-motion animation.

Here is the Quicktime version of my movie (I should have done this in the first place). Thanks for all the love!

Okay folks, here's my movie which is my take on Calliope's great tiny story "movies." This was my first foray into work behind the camera and I had a great time making it. I hope you enjoy it!

Toss put together an amazing REmix of Metaphorest's "Imaginary Friends" Tiny Story. It was one of the best examples of pooled REsources I've come across on the site. She got all the right feelings down and it was a very emotional RECord. I made a few changes to her version and used a few additional REsources here and there.

by far the most ambitious thing i've ever done for hitrecord and probably life in general. this is the first time i have ever done anything like this!

anywho, i just loved metaphorest's story (i love all her stories!) and this wonderful song by forestknauff.

i'm still working on this but i wanted to post the idea, I know its a little slow moving so this is version 1.0

let me know what you think guys :)

love,

My tiny story + Tori's voiceover + Jen's doodle + JoAnna's music, thrown together with a REmix of Pauline's earlier vid = this. (The file is super large, so fingers crossed that everything encodes properly on the first try.)

Special thanks to my brother who aided me for the animation portion. :)

A video I made to my Tiny Story of the same name....I really wanted a male voice over, but that didn't work out...and the music I quickly put together on garageband...but REmix your heart away with this, I'd love to see what can be made out of it!

Also, if there is anyone that I didn't reference, let me know and I'll do that!

This is the low-res, streamable version. The high-res version for REmixing is here: http://hitrecord.org/records/197278

Here is a video REmix of Rian Johnson's reading of wirrow's "Electricity Pylons" Tiny Story from the second "Summer In the City!"

It's very post-apocalyptic.

One of my favorite Tiny Stories.
I took some Illustrations, slightly changed them and animated them with a video software. My voice sounds a little weird since I am sick.. sorry :-/

Filmed this on my holiday in Cyprus :)
The voice is slightly slowed down from the SITC2 show.

The last bit with the shadow on the ground was supposed to be kind of like the new species on earth or something...
