In his fall formal announcement today, Joe said that it feels like an arm has been chopped off. It just made me wonder how we, as his community and family, can support him and help him. Let's be his other arm through our love and RECords.

I lived right across the street from this lake and walked it daily. It's one of the Finger Lakes in NY. I took this pic with my cell phone one icy day...almost looks fake, but it's not!

The Unicorn looked dreamily at Alice, and said 'Talk, child.'

Alice could not help her lips curling up into a smile as she began: 'Do you know, I always thought Unicorns were fabulous monsters, too! I never saw one alive before!'

'Well, now that we HAVE seen each other,' said the Unicorn, 'if you'll believe in me, I'll believe in you. Is that a bargain?'

'Yes, if you like,' said Alice.

There is a place in PA called Longwood Gardens with the same structures. I took tons of pics of them...they are so enchanting! I will post one of the ones I took.

These two men are my life. Without them, I don't know where I would be or what I would be doing. They are the two biggest gifts God has ever given me. They are the foundation of my family.

As a little girl, I hid behind silence and school. As a teen, I hit under big sweaters and timidity. In college, I hid by nearly disappearing, seeking invisibility through an eating disorder.
Although I look at myself and only see the imperfections, I have more to live for. I want to be an example to my son of self-confidence and self-love. This life is so much bigger than my body or being like a model. I want to stop hiding and be known. Truly known.

Peter Pan once said, "To die would be a great adventure." The author, J.M. Barrie has many beautiful words that personify Dan (from what I have learned of this incredible man), so I made a mini-collage for him.
