Actually, it’s quite difficult to make a short list of what records I like, I’m sure there are many more. I didn’t watch everything yet. But this is a first bunch of some records for the RE:Cities. I hope it will help!

1. Cities Record- Philadelphia Skyline (Janet) – video of 15 seconds, perfect for the intro of the Cities collaboration for example.

2. Tiny City Stories (Gimik Jo) – I like the all video, but if I had to pick only a part of it, I would choose 1:11 – 1:39 with all the paintings (from comics) on the streets… which is really the specificity of Brussels (there are many other things, but it’s the most original for me…)
And I would like to mention as well the music soundtrack Gimik Jo used “Pine Needles” (megancarnes) – a piano piece which fit very well for this collaboration (and also for Tiny Stories I think)
http://hitrecord.org/records/158199

3. In the City - Bradford, UK [2] (jennifermorris) – a 50 seconds video. If I had to, I would use the first 26 seconds (which correspond to the first shot).
She did as well “In the City - Bradford, UK [1]” where I would pick few parts: the first 20 seconds, then 01:40 – 01:47, and 02:23 – 02:50 (some shots in it)

4. RE: Cities - Houston, TX (without music) (khrister) – it’s almost a 7 minutes video. I have to watch it again to only choose some few parts hahaha I like what khrister is saying, it’s really interesting.

5. Paris (belcath1981) – I’m French but not Parisian, last time I went to Paris I was 3 years old (it’s a little more than 20 years ago now) and I remember I was singing all the time “La Tour Eiffel, La Tour Eiffel, La Tour Eiffel, La Tour Eiffel,” (aloud, more and more). The Eiffel Tower was quite impressive for the kid I was (the one on my portrait…), it was quite a fantasy as well, I was already conscious this monument was special and I find this again in this picture. I like its ethereal aspect in this picture.... as you might noticed, it's a very personal choice haha

6. Shanghai (njtam) – I simply but truly love this painting /
Vancouver, BC (Krrr) - and I simply and truly love this picture.

7. Summer in the City [lights] (fakeequinox) – I’m sure it needed a lot of time and work. It’s a very original record. I’m in admiration for this work.

8. City Movement (LilacAmy11) – I have to watch it again to choose some parts of it. When I’m watching it, I feel a sort of nostalgia in this video, but I can’t explain why. If I had to, I would probably choose the outside shots of the trains/city/station…

9. RE:Cities Hiroshima 6th August Toro-nagashi – A 43 seconds video. I love it, I think it’s a very useful and beautiful footage. I would pick the end: 00:26 – 00:43

10. RE: Cities Mix (EricSpring) – Finally, it’s an example of a mix of different records about this collaboration which can work by itself. It’s 7 minutes long, with 45 resources. Good editing.
In the same way, I like this version “Electri:CITIES Timelapse Mixup” (chigwinkle). I couldn’t watch the entire video (even when I downloaded it…), but the first 23 seconds are great. It’s dynamic and very well done. Hope to see more!

My city is old.
European.
Not London.
Not Paris.
Not that big.
Her walls are talking.
My city is full of stories.

(Some footages are older than others. Sorry for the not-so-good quality.)

As per RichieMillenium's request (and due to the fact that the other video got cut-off at the end), I've uploaded a version of this video without music :D

I spent the afternoon driving around Houston with my cousin and brother taking videos of my favorite spots for this collaboration.

I'm the typical Military kid who got to move all over the place following her dad to wherever he was sent. I've lived in California, Florida, Virginia, Italy, Sicily, and Texas. I've also been to Germany, France, Spain, Luxembourg, Holland, and Sardinia. So I think it's safe to say that I've been to several cities in my 22 years. Anyway, we settled down long enough in Texas to allow me to graduate from high school. After graduation, I went to the Philippines for vacation and just never left. Within a week of arriving, I had enrolled at a local college and stayed for 4 years to earn a degree in Nursing. I graduated in April 2010 and moved back to Texas in May. The track in the background is of me talking about how it was like to live in the Philippines.

I think I get repetitive, but I wanted to include as much audio as possible to give others more material with which to work. I thought it'd be interesting to show the beauty of Houston (where I've lived for over 6 years) while I talked about a different way of life in another country to show the contrast in cultures.

I'll upload the more "upbeat" version of this video with music in a little bit. I just wanted to get this out in time for SITC :)

It's kind of long, but I hope this footage is useful to someone out there :)

PS: I'd like to thank my awesome cousin, Daryl, for driving me around Houston for the day; my cousin, irenmonkey, for lending us her car; and to my brother for coming along and making sure I wasn't lost.

I've never been to Shanghai, but it's definitely one of the top places I want to visit. I've always been intrigued by its diversity of European, Chinese, and modern architecture. I've named this "Nancy in Shanghai with Nikki" because Nikki was very kind to me in art class by letting me use her picture as a reference. She was a great teacher.

And after 50+ shots, and many hours, I have some kind of a result.

I recently got a new tripod so light painting has been much easier for me but I just didn't want the words to be in complete darkness. I figured I'd use the photos from the collab as backgrounds. It's more exciting that way!

I have the template separate and I'd be more than happy to upload it if anyone wants it!

I see the beginning is kind of icky, it must be because the file's incredibly large ahhhhlkfd

A "love letter" to public transportation in cities:) I am constantly enthralled by traveling on public transportation (even though I've been doing it for years). I love watching the people and feeing connected. I especially love doing it in cities I'm visiting. This is my first attempt at filming/editing, and also mixing song and speech. This is a skill I would love to get better at, so any feedback/advice from you amazing editors out there would be much appreciated. I had a ton of fun doing this:) Fun fact!: In the shot that goes with "The Circle Line is the best" when the train is going over the river, there is a really bright light on the bridge that I was so happy about because it synced up with Tom's line about the city being a sun. That light was because Transfomers 3 was filming and evidently needed an extremely bright shot. So thanks Transformers!:) ** I'm resourcing the latest Regularity on here because of Joe's comment about making a vid for the Cities collab. Although this isn't a documentary like he was talking about, it does incorporate several of the RECords in the Cities collab.

I really enjoyed the mix that Claire Dee had put together, and after watching it a second time, I realized we didn't use any of the same audio clips and only a few identical video clips. I decided it would make a great bridge between the two video sections I had already put together, so I resized her mix and put it in the middle of mine, then added a quick intro to create this final cut.

Started making this a week ago and didnt manage to work on in for a couple of days, so it's a little late. Hope you enjoy anyways.

Big thanks to the awesome Haus_of_Glitch for his crazy cool track and to SFBakstad for all the beautiful time lapses that formed the basis of this remix.
