Other Hitrecorders Music & Audio RECords I like.
A couple friends helped me record this last summer with much better equipment than I have. I'm hoping to record the vocals soon, maybe even make it a duet this time. The "Oooh" section at the end has also been extended for more room for remixing. Feel free to add instruments to this or even use it to create a new song :) The original is listed in the resources if you want an idea of how it sounds with vocals.
STEMS can be found in the results :)
I've been wanting to cover a song for The Morning Hollows' HitRECord Covers Collab forever since I mostly record song covers on my tumblr and that's what got me into recording music in the first place. I never could decide on a song to cover, but I finally listened to tonguecutsparrow's song yesterday and decided to try it. Since his song is already awesome, I just did this one quickly and had some fun with a few garageband effects, so don't take it too seriously :)
I think dolphin challenged me to do horror music? Maybe? I'm too lazy to check. Anyways this might be cheating because I wrote it two years ago and just randomly found it on my computer. But I hope you like it. And I may do another version with more instruments later. Perhaps.
I was in the middle of finals when I released the messed up version. Forgive me?
just started playing around on the piano and this is what came out :)
ghosts of you are
singing softly
through the walls and
under floorboards.
goodnight sweet princes and princesses,
may flights of angels with umbrellas shield your sacred heads from rain
as you flow sweetly on your way.
our lives will never be the same..
Just a small little 30second groove for Matt Conley's collaboration.
I was listening to my Mellow Yellow vinyl record that I stole from my grandpa's house, and when it was over, my kids turned up the volume trying to hear more, but all you could hear was the pops from dust and scratches repeating over and over again. I thought it sounded like a fun beat so I recorded it for remixing. I'm hoping someone will do something awesome with this because I don't think my usual stuff really fits.
Lava Tornado made music. RayPerez sampled it and rapped over it. I added some drums, sang along to a hook, and yes, dropped a second verse.
Hip hop is so conducive to hitRECord, or perhaps hitRECord is conducive to hip hop. Either way, if we can do something this good without even trying, imagine what we might make when we try again! Whether it's a new song, or another remix of this one.
I also recorded video that'll sync with the drums and the hook vocals. Get that shit up soon, son. And I'll put a zip file up too that should have all the raw audio etc...
For my friend.
This is just an idea so far, but I thought I'd share it anyway. I mucked about with that Django Reinhardt tune suzyrene uploaded.

Getting to grips with a new mic singing along with another Afroskeleton track <3
Lyrics
I know
I don’t want to leave this body
I’ve grown quite close
To this shell I call my home
Before I was born
Where was I
Was I nothing?
And when I die again?
Will I be born again?
I’m unsure
Of everything of nothing
I am pure confusion
A fusion of cells
That I call myself
Am I all myself?
Or are there parts of other things in me and parts of me in other things?
I think there are.
Like stars and dirt
Why does it hurt so much?
I re-recorded this song last month sometime now that my piano is in tune, but never posted it because I'm still not totally in love with the way it ended up sounding. Anyway, I would love love LOVE for this song to be remixed or even started over from scratch. I tried to pay more attention to my timing and everything this time so it will be easier for anyone that wants to add to it. If you're interested, let me know and I'll upload the stems. I really want to take this song to a whole other world, more voices, more ambient sounds, more more more! I want the "ooo" section to sound heavenly, so if you have any ideas, please share! Chords: Verses: C Am Em C Am Em C Am Em F G Oohs: C Em (a million times) and at the end it's F Em Am then another verse and end in C
I haven't had much time to work on this so there hasn't been many changes. Nothing more than eq tweaking. I got rid of the glitch effect on the drums towards the end that pamagotchi rightly disapproved of. I would like to request of pamagotchi perhaps to rerecord the vocals. Maybe two new versions. Not necesarly completely different versions. I would just like to hear the different inflections that are inherent when working on something and then returning to it later on. If you could do one one day and another someother day. I will upload an instrumental track as well.
bowing my saw, cut up what i was playing and randomly rearranged it.
i sat down at the piano on a gloomy day and this came out. i'd be honored if you'd listen to it :)
"As the starfish tickle our toes, our love grows and gives way to the sea" - Tiny Story by bellaarts, illustration by mirtle
this is more of an idea than a finished product, i really wanted to see how this would sound played on a guitar for a more beachy sound, but i'm no guitarist. also, please forgive my terrible pitchy whistling skills and replace it with something better. i'd also love to see how this might sound with a guy singing along to go better with mirtle's adorable illustration. i also would love to see mirtle's illustration animated with their heads bobbing along and whistling to this little tiny tune, maybe with some dancing starfish or something, ha.
Stems for remixing can be found in the results!

I really loved listening to bell's Seashell song. I added some synths and sounds to it to hopefully further enhance the mood. Enjoy!
created 10/17/09
plenty of space to fill, so have fun <3
One of my favourite tunes on HR by wirrow. I wanted to give it a classical touch.
I like it when people say that..I think it sounds pretty nifty
sit back. chill and enjoy!

familys are broken and houses are striped of there warmth and there comfort, these places weve lived we are the children of the streets we are the children of the streets cramped in a closet where pillows made home. morning brings hunger and we walk alone we are the children of the streets we are the children of the streets homes where the heart is then where am i now? lost in a maze where money makes mama proud we are the children of the streets we are the children of the streets our times are hard and these times are rough we aint got nothing to keep out heavy heads up and one day well be older to work for the light a cozy warm bed, a glow in the night oh we are the children of the streets (well be together in the end) we are the children of the streets well be together in the end well be together in the end
everything flows sweetly when you slow down
unwind all your tapes and dance to ghost sounds
i'm in another world, and you're breaking up
but i'll call you soon.. if i make it back
I wanted to pay homage to those fantastic 80's scifi film scores. Mostly inspired by the intro music for Captain Eo. The movie playing in my mind shows this to be the death scene of a hero..
i
am uncomfortable
with the way you say my name
cause i
do not belong to you
though you call me something strange
i
can't seem to stay awake
and i don't know what that means
for i
am an astronaut
i have nothing under me
you
are really starting to
climb inside my head
we
are like a negative
hung to dry above my bed
keep
me on this canyon floor
i don't want to venture out
your name
it sounds so strange to me
it's an unfamiliar sound
oh josephine
open the shutters
and throw on some clothes
we're getting clean
we're driving and driving
away from the places we know
oh josephine
don't look so somber
we've almost arrived there
and you'll ask me
how did we stay so
long in that place that we
your poor heartbeat
it looks awful tired
i watched as its fire went out
don't fall asleep
concussions like these
are liable to lead you aground
thanks for listening!
words:
like your chemistry a hollow you like in your chest where you hide don't fill it up; you might be left outside cold on the tips warmer as you move in taste the salt on my lips your salt is so different hope that we shared in a station somewhere that's a long way to go without someone with you there skin me right up with the words that you spoke i'm a veteran oak and you are my virgin steel i like your chemistry
just one of those days.
"And then we realized we will be here forever" - Tiny Story by Lidan
I left a lot of extra at the end if anyone wants to add to it. If not I'd probably fade it out a little sooner. And as always, I recorded this pretty quickly and there's a few mistakes (including that you can hear the metronome in the first couple seconds, whoops!). Plus my house just will not be quiet, who knew a three year old house would be so creaky?
Anyway, If anyone wants stems, just ask. It's a whole lot of vocal layers, each with a different vocal effect, so let me know if you want them all or just the raw stems.
piano, celesta, cello, fiddle.
This whole thing is a giant loop of many loops made by a loop. It's a single, simple Sine wave synth that starts with a one bar loop, then a 2 bar loop, then a 4 bar loop, then an 8 bar loop, then a 16 bar loop, then a 32 bar loop and then it breaks back down to one. A fun little challenge!
Let's write some Rock music, shall we!
Tempo: 90 Bpm.
*Don't mind the mix!
messing with the APC
Autumnal music, improvised with Mike Sole -piano and Dave Dhonau-cello ("Daidono" on HR) and myself- flute.
Recorded in 2010.
That time i was jobless just moving out with small baby from the house hoping for a new happy beginning.
I think it's remixable and inspiring. Let me know what do you think :)

Song i have written with Mark Johnston. I hope you like it :-) Lyrics were written originally for Tori's 10 min Challenge - "Cold".
Snow Dub
Silence melts my mind
My fears are evaporating
Air so pure, it's hard to breath
I like my frozen lips
I'm trying to talk you
about the steps i left in the snow
The steps i left for you
"Does anybody care who i was"
"Does anybody care who i was"
This snowy sanctuary makes me nostalgic
Night owls are sleeping
In the duvet of the snow
You can't stop memories of the past
Hidden in us, hidden in us
It makes us hibernate
It makes us recollect
It makes us wait
A re telling
This is randomocity, complete randomocity. I just hit record and went, so there are snippets that could possibly be used. I would love to see what could come out of this by someone who is talented at mixing and mastering.

"Green Candyfloss" with added Cello, i feel like 2/3 of Accortumn are alive:-)
My friend Dave decided to make minimal/stripped version with cello, flute and vox only:) Quoting him:
"An accidental string reinterpretation of a sweet little piece, (Green) Candyfloss by Peppina and Ola. I was adding cello parts to the song and it all became quite dense. So I removed the original guitar part which inspired the whole thing and added some extra percussive cello and a bass part and this happened..." Hitrec no. 1056132
Anybody fancy remixing this further?
Healing /Love/Music 2 you all
This one came out of a quick jam I had this week and desided to keep it raw in the mix. Enjoy!
a bit different than usual, and some recycled old songs of mine.
Went to an old mans house today to buy some jars, turns out his entire house was full of old jars. The garage, backyard, living room, everything. He claims to have over 500,000 jars. He then gave us a tour of pretty much every type of jar he has, super eager to share everything he knows. Three hours later we left with the 12 jars we came for
this is what I call Organic House.
enjoy!
part of the Foxes EP
I've been absolutely in love with seldelaterre's "L-O-V-E-S-O-N-G" so i thought i'd make a remix of her lovely tune!
Used my ukulele, violin, piano, iPhone, (as a mic because my mic is broken at the moment) and computer for mixing.
Enjoy (:
*I apologize for the annoying volume shifts! :/
Oh dear HitRecord Santa! Let me upload this song finally! I'm struggling and this is 3rd attempt :-)
This is remix of "MojÄ…", which was orginally contributed to Taylor Collaboration for Multi-lingualistic collaboration.

Lyrics are the mosaic of all of my favourite memories from the childhood. First version was recorded just before Xmas 2010, so
Is nearly Xmas now...:) So i want to say thank you thanx to hitrecorders for being awesome,good-hearted supportive and appreciative. You know who you are! :-)
I want to upload stems for the original version of the song next week, so you can recycle and remix them further.
Me and James are releasing this on next Ep on seriously small label next year:)
Lots of love and Have a lovely Xmas Everybody!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBN3xfGrx_U Franz was a tailor who was so sure that his invented suit would enable him to fly, he chose to jump from the Eiffel Tower to test it. This song is meant to be his timeline, from the making of the suit, to the plummet. A first in a series of songs to come.
I'm in the process of developing a signature sound for myself called, Floating. Its a blend of ambient, hip-hop, glitch, chillwave & experimental. My influences are Flying Lotus, Sigur Rós, & Washed Out.
Megan's music loops project collab was one of my favorite music collabs last year. I took all of the contributions and remixed them together to form a song of loops. Each loop is 8 measures long but every 8 measures of the song contains a different combination of loops which makes it constantly changing.
Track 9 of 11 on my experimental album 'Pool'
I've worked on this album sporadically for over three years, and with much neglect ... so now I figure the hitRECord community should be able to get their hands on it and rework these tracks! :)
Hope you enjoy

while working on a REmix of "the prize," i got this riff in my head. so i put prize on hold and worked on this.
sampled a bit of Lava Tornado and another tasy find from GwenInterrupted's trusty loop collection.
Guitar, Bass, Arrangement ~ meeeee
rather than sit around with it, i'm sharing it in its "rough draft" state. or whatever.
i'd love to get someone doing a nice hip hop flow to it. or something of that nature.
tbc.
this is why i hit RECord.
<3
This RECord can now be heard on the HitRECorderly #3 Vinyl (released Summer 2012) as "Diamond in the Rough"

I made this one on Saturday during a rainy day, hope this little diddy finds you inspired!
I decided to improvise on the theme of "Cold" for Tori's 10 minute writing challenge! Writing music counts, right? So yeah, this is just 10 minutes of me playing random stuff of the piano (actually I went 13 seconds over. I am so sorry). I was picturing a snowy forest the whole time soooooo yes.
Since it's improvised, there are quite a few screw-ups. Sorrrryyy I'm not a crazy perfect robot person like Mozart. Also, I got a bit bored at one point threw in a little surprise (I think it's somewhere around 8 minutes), see if you can recognize it!
I'm hoping to start doing these piano improvisations for every writing challenge. Hopefully I'll get better at it! :x
I would love to hear somebody try a new melody with this song. Here's the breakdown as I hear it:
Verse1 - 0:20
Chorus -1:18
Instrumental - 1:42
Verse 2 - 2:01
Chorus 2 - 2:39
Instrumental - 3:25
Final Verse/Outro - 3:44
The Blue loop. It feels like a seasickness coming in waves that break and wash up in your mind over and over again. It's very particular to me.
Ryan Patrick's 'Bell Song' instrumental got me real excited to add a little saxophone ... and by a little I mean 15 tracks. :p I may have went a little overboard.
This is an instrumental I made. I would love to hear somebody singing on this, or hear this beat in a movie. Whatever you do make it amazing.
Kinda inspired by the flickering lights video, maybe.

LYRICS
All my days have come and gone
And theres no better place
To call my own, to call this home
Ive seen your face a million times
It never seems to change
In time you'll find the sky will fall
To meet us face to face
Times have changed
The page has turned
The chapters lost their names
The paper corners have worn away
The ceaseless turn of age
When you turn back time inside your head
Did you live while you're alive
Or are you already dead?
A little groove for that summer road trip or just go out and cruise to.
I've beens sitting on this one for awhile and would love to see something done with it. This is a rough demo - let me know if you want me to re-record specific parts, the whole thing, etc.
Or individual cold blooded killers.
Orchestral track with my vocals included ;)
Feel free to remix!
