Hello... with Fall Formal being just over two weeks away, I wanted to organize some thoughts, so this album is my RECommendations for things to be used at Fall Formal. I based these choices on what Joe said could be useful for Fall Formal in the REGularity from 9/20. I limited myself to only 3 choices from any collab (because for most of them, I could have included about 10 RECords and that's not really helpful in narrowing down:)

I think we all fully understand Joe's absence on the site, but at the same time, we all want to put on an awesome show. I thought maybe we could all do an album like this, to make things easier for when Joe is ready, or if Jared is planning pieces.

The Road to Fall Formal:
[preparing personette] by toss
Fall Formal REmix by Briarosethorn
Fall Formal: Action Trailer (high-res) by MattConley
[fall formal REpetiton] by Toss (I know I only said 3. but this one just came out and I couldn't bump one:)

Vote Video Collab:
hitRECord characters voting together by susurro
Got a Minute? Voting Video by phenomenaaa
Got a Minute? by pamagotchi

Fake History videos:
A Fake History of 1987 by MattConley
The Balance Beam - Fake Stories [audio-visual] by melanne
Subtitled Fake History of Air Freshener by RichieMillenium

Tiny Stories videos:
The Hummingbird - Stop Motion Animation by The_Story_Girl
The Pissed Princess by xobreexo23
Electricity Pylons: REmix (low res) by MattConley

Stories Using Fall Formal Setting:
The Actress and the Sorrow Bird (Fall Formal Idea REmix) by metaphorest
theatre in the stars by wirrow

Burning Dan (although never mentioned for Fall Formal, I feel like some RECords must be included):
For Dan by filmpunk
[forever on fire] by Toss
Burn on as a ROUND Lizzie Mackie leads by Todd68976 (it would be so, so, so amazing if we could do this live. A lot of us on this RECord will be at Fall Formal, and could you imagine the entire crowd chanting this??)

Other:
-The Anglerpod Continues to Wait by RichieMillenium\
- Nebulullaby re-do... Joe mentioned this but I haven't seen anything about it.. maybe I missed it?

A few other things that may be good to work on, but that weren't mentioned in the 9/20 REGularity
- RE:Cities (we never really had a final video)
- The Man in the Herringbone Hat
- Alice/Dreams video
- Dates for Fall formal videos

My contribution to the Road to FF Collab.
first of all, I never use hair rollers (because my hair are naturally curly) and I actually don't know how to use lip pencil cause I never use it too.

And the second thing - some people who watched the video before I released it said it was too vulgar -_ -

I hope you'll understand I'm just playing the fool here ^^

This is the high-resolution version for REmixing purposes.

This started off as an experiment. I wanted to make a "getting ready for the Fall Formal" video and try to collaborate with other hitRECorders across the globe. The idea started with the goal of getting various contributions of footage and editing them all together into some kind of story involving the Fall Formal event. This final product somehow ended up with a motorcycle chase, a diamond heist, a double-cross, and some sensuality.

It's interesting how a video collaboration like this takes shape. So much is dependent on community participation, and I was very fortunate to have a bunch of wonderful submissions for every REquest I put out. Every contribution was so awesome and I want to thank everyone who got involved for taking the time to act, film, or do voice over work. It was very difficult to narrow down all the contributions into the ones that are in this final version. I am so grateful for everyone's support and involvement.

Now I just hope you guys enjoy the video!

I really like janetfelts' idea of showing a variety of hitrecord characters standing in line waiting to vote. To expand on this idea, how about we start off by showing a bustling city with lots of ...

WATCH THE ENTIRE VIDEO!!!
Don't just stop it when the logo comes up at the end. The very last part is the best.

I LOVED pamagotchi's "Got a Minute" Voting poster. It's too perfect to *not* make a video out of.
This took forever, but I love the finished product anddddd I hope you do, too.

THANKS AGAIN TO CATNESS, WITHOUT WHOM THIS COULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. I love you with all my heart, 'Ye.

I kinda switched Pam's order around, but not too much.
Here's the order of the video:
Wake up.
Get up.
Make coffee.
Brush teeth.
Take a shower.
Grab breakfast.
Newspaper.
Find keys.
Get to work.
Notes.
Project.
Fix Printer Jam.
Coffee.
Email.
Grab Lunch.
VOTE.
Call parents.
Plan tonight.
Afternoon meeting.
Head home.
Shower.
Dinner.
Get ready.
Bar.
Drinks.
Party.
Cab.
Home.
Wash face.
Bed.

Something I threw together for the Vote Collaboration. I think it might be a starting point? Maybe for an animation? I wanted to suggest how voting only takes a moment, it doesn't mess up your daily routine...I hope it only does take a minute...!

So, after a really wonderful audio response to my request yesterday for "A Fake History of 1987" voiceover samples, now comes the time to unleash the first version in what I hope will be a heavily REmixed RECord.

There's 20 or so "1987" readings (so far) and when it came time to select one for the first version it was insanely difficult. The diversity of the readings was amazing because everyone interpreted the story, and its telling, in such unique ways.

Some readings went pretty fast, others went at a slower pace. Some were absolutely deadpan while others sounded straight off an R-rated radio report.

After sampling each of the readings over the visuals I had compiled I decided that Day Glo's reading suited the story I had originally envisioned. But even that isn't entirely true because I always knew the reading itself would dictate the pacing, the shot selection, and the overall tone of the video.

Day Glo's reading jumped out at me because it sounded like a report you'd hear on BBC, but it also had an even flow throughout. He read at a consistent pace that maintained the same tone without drawing too much attention to any particular line. Even the profanity remained subtle and advanced the story without making me think too much about what I'd just heard.

I hope that makes sense.

Having said all of that, I will be uploading a second version with JUST THE VIDEO and short sample of iBrew's "Aunt Roy's Picnic" (which plays briefly over the title.) That way everyone can REmix the video with different readings.

The way I edited the video however is matched to Day Glo's reading, so a new edit will probably have to be done to match the pacing of someone else's voice. All the REsources are cited (including the public domain footage) so anyone can use those same videos to REmix the visuals.

Alright, enough rambling...

Oh, and I'll start a collaboration too. :)

[I hope it's not a too compressed video...I'll upload the zip of the uncompressed video later.]

I was inspired by two records:
first of all, the music entitled "The Miroslav Effect (Remix)" by B*DON, I love this music and I absolutely wanted to use it;
then, the audio recording of "Balance Beam fake history" by mattsoar, it's a great vocal piece and I thought these two records match so well.

I'm not completely satisfied by the visual editing (especially the "Albatross loop" - I didn't really understand what it is, and I didn't find any pirate's shots which could work...). I created the soundtrack first and I wanted to add some images, however I think something better can be done. That's why I'll upload the soundtrack for anyone who may be interested to make his/her own version...

I am insanely in love with Marielv's "Fake History of Air Freshener" RECord. I thought it was brilliant even though I couldn't understand anything being said. After she posted most of the text of the dialog I wanted to help with some kind of remix. So here's Marielv's RECord with subtitles added and audio compressed.

I love TwistedThursday's short story, I always wondered what the Princess's side of the story was, so I just wanted to play with the idea. I was also wondering if I could try a little experiment with you guys. I made this little film of mine black and white gave little detail to the environment, as a way of giving you guys the rest of control. Kind of like a big coloring book that turns in a story. You can print it out for some hand made illustrations or photoshop it. Go crazy! This is such a plain atmosphere, which is no fit for a princess add some crazy shannigans please. Make the leaves orange and pink or add a penguin with a tuxedo. Its just a small experiment of mine, and I'm curious
I added zip of the individual photos soon so you pick any moment or emotion and give it a try
Thank you♥

This is the low-res, streamable version. The high-res version for REmixing is here: http://hitrecord.org/records/197278

Here is a video REmix of Rian Johnson's reading of wirrow's "Electricity Pylons" Tiny Story from the second "Summer In the City!"

It's very post-apocalyptic.

Even after uploading "The Anglerpod Waits and Waits", and getting lots of great feedback, I continued having ideas for that video. So I've revisited the beginning bit and the ending bit a bit, filling in empty spots and putting a new shine on it.

It started as a couple conversations with the inimitable Sean Lennon, and look how far it's come! This is the version of Nebulullaby that screened at Sundance 2010. (Leaving UT today, we'll be updating with cited Resources and a new higher quality file with the proper aspect ratio soon )
