SonLux made a sick remix of JeffPeff's original 'TimeLapse Jam' beat and incorporated Nels and Yuka's performance over it at the first 'SITC show. So the logical step was to remix the Timelapse Video and incorporate the visuals of Nels and Yuka. This is what played at 'SITC 2' !!!!

Toss put together an amazing REmix of Metaphorest's "Imaginary Friends" Tiny Story. It was one of the best examples of pooled REsources I've come across on the site. She got all the right feelings down and it was a very emotional RECord. I made a few changes to her version and used a few additional REsources here and there.

Destiny: Lexy Hulme (lula)
Destiny Doubleglass: Meagan Kong (solongkong)

Video inspired by line in Metaphorest's, Morgan M Morgansen’s Date with Destiny: “Capricitous califrag Morgan M. Morgansen stood in the longroom of his fourwalls, narcissising himself in the doubleglass.”

Since you never see Destiny “narcissing herself in the doubleglass" pre date, we decided to demonstrate what a personette looks like when she prepares. Though the dancey ditty was choreographed to The Ditty Bops’ "Your Head's Too Big" we added Madrond101’s piano audio from Morgan to set the tone.

What we were hoping to happen next:
-Narration (we would love a monologuey tale or a clowny song of a personette preparing!)
-Score (some tunes to portray her datesoon nerves – we love Madrond101’s piano, but that’s what plays when Morgan prepares. Destiny prepares to something that makes her lips cherried to the max!)
-Extra girly wardrobe room (ribbons and BOWS everywhere – pink – red lips)
-what else? Anyone else wanna RECord themselves personette preparing?

I'm way too far from NY to have any chance of going to SITC but nonetheless, this is my 'wave hello' :)
Paper cities getting together on my desk and having their little hitRECord celebration.

Also, if this animation is of any use, I'm always glad to know)

I I took this great piece by Marke and instead of doing the work I was supposed to be doing played with it for a couple hours and came up with this.

I'm going to work on this more and make something better, but thought I'd share and see if there's any suggestions before I go further. Also if anyone wants to add sound or the like please feel free to do so.

Well, once again the next and final 'SITC' show is........ tomorrow!

Thank you all who attended, watched, contributed and especially remixed for the last show. It was an incredible evening.

Find out what we are doing for the show tomorrow and how you can contribute to be a part of it!

Help sifting through the 870 contributions of the RE: CITES collaboration and make an album of the RECords that you think are golden. Name that album your "selects" and contribute it to the collaboration "RE: CITIES Selections."
http://hitrecord.org/records/196702

We pulled out an awesome rough draft of the "Glitch Live Acts" music video in just 24 hours. Now lets refine it some more and really focus on making a high energy 'Glitichified' ending.

Also, we need a brand new INTRO for the show. Follow the script and lets make a completely different version than the previous 2. Do whatever you want with it.... surprise me.

And, now that we have so many great readings of our tiny stories from the 'SITC' shows, lets incorporate them with some music and moving images and make some tiny videos to screen at the show tomorrow.

Well, I can't tell you enough how great it's been doing these shows here in NYC and how incredibly awesome our community has come through with REmarkable REsults for us to screen.

I cannot say it enough....

Thanks and thanks again.

In an attempt to change things up for the third "Summer In the City!" intro, I edited an "intro to the intro." Using dandruff's striking musical piece "Truly Human," I cut together images from the first two "SITC!" shows and then bridged it into the "SITC Intro" by RegularJOE (this was used in the first show and segues into thesherbethead's "Rockin' Edition" teaser.)

The vibe of the "Creative Process Intro" is definitely slower and more reflective on the community of hitRECord, but I think it might be an interesting way to REcap the first two shows without an all-out nostalgic approach. Instead it captures some of the key moments, the live collaboration, and the nature of the community and its members. Then things get jamming once the transition to the other intros occurs.

Maybe it works. Maybe it doesn't.

Let me know what you guys think and feel about this concept.

by far the most ambitious thing i've ever done for hitrecord and probably life in general. this is the first time i have ever done anything like this!

anywho, i just loved metaphorest's story (i love all her stories!) and this wonderful song by forestknauff.

i'm still working on this but i wanted to post the idea, I know its a little slow moving so this is version 1.0

let me know what you think guys :)

My tiny story + Tori's voiceover + Jen's doodle + JoAnna's music, thrown together with a REmix of Pauline's earlier vid = this. (The file is super large, so fingers crossed that everything encodes properly on the first try.)

That's a basic concept of what i want to do with this background and music. Want add some more layers, maybe more people and make crowd, some pigeons or any other element that you can find in city ( or maybe something surreal?).

I don't really have any story concept for this, want only things happen and maybe they tell story by them selves.

I really wanted to add this great piece of work : http://hitrecord.org/records/195489
, but I'm not smart enough to do this.

I am in love with this song and this performance rocked my world!
Oh and I gotta give credit to my husband for this RECord (and several others, actually). He had a better view of the stage because he couldn't score a seat (there's a bright side to everything, right?), plus being almost 6 ft tall surely didn't hurt :)

Sean just wrote a song. hitRECord is going to collaboratively orchestrate it and turn it into a short film. But for now, let's just listen to this beautiful music.

lyrics by Sean Lennon and Charlotte Muhl

Every night the auburn Sun
Tucks in her children one by one
Beaming with pride slips from the sky
With moons and stars left for night lights

Under her skirt her closest child
Bright mercurial and wild
He's hot headed with iron heart
Here her twilight orbit starts

Venus reclines upon her shell
Her gown of clouds does suit her well
A true actress this narcissist
Out shines all the other starlets

Mars is clad in spartan red
He glares at his kindred planets
Don't double cross him or his path
Lest you stir his chilling wrath

Near by the insomniac lies
Their big brother Jupiter sighs
Sleeping with one open eye
Blood shot from all the years gone by

His sister is so saturnine
Her moods rings changing all the time
"Why the long face?" her mother pries
"Because my core is made of ice"

The old windbag Uranus coughs (cough)
"He's so dim-witted!" they all scoff
Once mistaken for a star
This lazy bones is no quasar

In shadows stalking everyone
Pluto's the illegitimate son
Of the litter he's the runt
This black sheep is on the run

Hear the music of the spheres
The ticking of the cosmic gears
I'll sing a nebulullaby
As we twirl across the sky

Startled by a mortal cry
The Sun suddenly realized
Earth disowned for her hubbub
At least gave birth to human love

This is the low-res version. Download the high-res version for REmixing purposes here: http://hitrecord.org/records/204791

I've been trying to make my "Summer In the City!" REcap RECords as diverse as possible, playing around with the moods a lot in order to avoid too much of the same thing. That being said, I opted to go the quieter route for this REmix of the third, and final, "Summer In the City!"

Even though it was so high energy and packed full of spectacle I wanted to attempt to present it in two parts: one as a mini-musical intro of sorts featuring Nathan's "Morgan SiTC Score" and second as a visual montage set to ForestKnauff's poetic "Light-Bulb Scars" (listen to those lyrics - they match the themes and tone of "SITC" perfectly in my opinion.)

There's still more footage rolling in to the September 6th "SITC" collaboration, so consider this a work in progress. It can be built on and REmixed quite a bit. And then perhaps it can be used for a more comprehensive REmix featuring sounds from the show, rather than just montage imagery.

The story and drawing are inspiring. I hope the inspiration continues with this animated version.

(Update: I would like to revise this to correct the dimensions of the video and to correct other things. I forgot to add back in the pool of black under the boy and some of the shadow under the robot. Plus, after watching a few times the movement seems too fast. I can also alter the speed at which the text appears so anyone wanting to do a voice over - if you could post the voice as just an audio result - don't try to match your voice to the text, just read it naturally and I can add that in and match the text up and then make the other tweaks.)

In case you don't want to hear me ramble for a minute, here's a quick rundown if my idea:

I'm actually surprised this hasn't been done yet, or maybe I'm just missing it.

EITHER WAY! I think it'd be really rad if we all recorded ourselves saying, simply, "Are we recording?" It's... really easy, quick (for the shy types) and just a fun way for all of us to get our voices out there. Literally.

I think it'd be REALLY sweet if people could say it in different languages and whatnot, but really, do what you want. Sing it, yell it, wail it. Anything!

Give this collab some heartsies and help get it on the map!

Thanks!

IMPORTANT!!! kinda.

Please 'contribute' all ..contributions to the actual collab page (linked above), just so it's easy to keep track of all the results. :D
