I became a hitRECorder only a few months ago and am surprised that I have several RECords that I really like to place on my reel.
Here's another of my historical REmixes. I tried to keep it in the same spirit as wirrow's original version. Starting this weekend, I will be focused on getting a contract completed which is due towards the end of January so I can't promise there will be a v.2. Once I see that this video has encoded, then I'll add the rest of the resources.

When i first saw Joe's Occupy Wall Street collaboration,, Robo_J's Weapon REmix instantly started playing in my head! So I was pleased that Metaphorest and Robo_j added their RECords to the collab.
I reread Metaphorest's lyrics and the words in the image are from her song but I rearranged a few to make another statement.
I was trying to figure out what to do for the RE:Independence collaboration. While doing video research, I came across the short animated film 200 and instantly became captivated with the seventies-style Americana motifs twisting and turning. I suppose this REmix is a celebration of the freedom to fight for one's dreams and to create in Joe's words “transcendent, rambunctious art.”

Today marks my one-year anniversary at hitRECord. I started this REmix some four months ago and for some reason I couldn't get any momentum to carry it through. But this weekend, I finished it. Coincidentally, I had already included some footage of NYC but given the 10-year anniversary of 9/11, I wanted to keep it in. Thanks to via for showing me in her video fireflies for sarah how to correctly edit PASIV's version of Megan Carnes' Sunday Evening.

I just re-watched the video where Joe was recommending Foreign Sounds and he was talking about maybe adding another layer to the video but that he also liked the video bare. Coincidentally, cchellez and I used some footage from the video Noiry Night. For the couple I wanted to feature, I used different footage. It would be interesting to hear people's interpretation of this.
Love. Passion. Artistry. Excellence. I believe these are born from a fiery heart. We harness fire for industrial purposes. We can create and can destroy with fire. We even celebrate with fire. With the original Everything on Fire video, Joe pays a fiery tribute to the love shared between two brothers. This remix is my take on the fiery heart.

I was working on one REmix and I just couldn't finish it and put it aside. Then this song captured my imagination so much that I thought perhaps I was supposed to do this REmix instead. Plus, I'm pleased that I could finish this the day before my birthday. Coincidentally, one of the public domain films was relased the year of my birth. It's funny how things turn out. Thank you Pamagotchi for a stardusty REmix and missamerica for your candelit capture.
