Text RECords:

I only have one (so far): "When I was younger: TV" and I am mainly proud of what happened to it, meaning, the BEAUTIFUL drawing that gwy came up with!

Image RECords:

"Feeling Winter" It's as simple as a photo can be. Two colours. A close crop. Yet, to me, it perfectly describes what snow means to me. Also, it's a self portrait and it was a hell of a job running back and forth to get it right :)

"Lee" Taken with a plastic camera (Holga), this photo has just so much character and atmosphere. And it reminds me of my home of 3 years Cork, Ireland.

"Peacocky" I just love the colours and the symmetry in this one.

Video RECords:

"The Drowning Song" I am simply delighted how well this turned out, bearing in mind I used completely unrelated records as resources for this. Plus the story is just well written and perfectly read.

"Memories from a different era" I just love this, personally, cause it reminds me of the Germany my grandparents grew up in. Even though it makes me a little sad, I love watching it. And PASIV's music just adds to the atmosphere.

When I was younger…

I often wondered how all those people ended up in our television set.

Feelingwinter
Snow makes you feel like a child, it makes you feel like dancing in it.
It feels cold on your hands, tickles your nose and dances on your tongue.
Snow is the fifth element.

I hope this record is doing Tootwofoursquare's amazing short story justice.

It took me ages to get appropriate resources together, so in the end, I had to use a few several times throughout the video.

Thanks again to Mrs Hock for her beautiful and captivating reading of the short story.

If I forgot to list a resource please let me know and I'll add it straight away!

Hope you like!!

This record comes with a bit of an explanation:

While I was rooting through Archive.org for an entirely different record I stumbled across this amateur film from what must have been any time between 1936-1937 (you can spot the Hindenburg at the end of the movie which only operated in that time frame) documenting a trip of an American couple through Europe. While I was quickly looking through it I recognised familiar landmarks. When I had a closer look I realised that this couple had been to two German cities that are very important to me. The first one in this record is Heidelberg, where I have lived for 2 years prior to moving to Dublin; the second one is Cologne, my favourite city in Germany and it is also very close to my own hometown. Now, the interesting thing is, I recognised the two cities because, even 80 years (!) later, they don’t look that much different. There is actually a café (Perkeo) visible in the first half of the movie that still exists – I know that because I have had lunch there several times! But even though it looks so familiar, it doesn’t at all look like the Germany I know and grew up in. It is interesting to see pictures of a time, when my grandparents were teenagers.
Anyways, I am rambling now. Inspired by the first two paragraphs of ManWithHat's "The City of Manifest Memory" I just wanted to put the material together, accompanied by PASIV’s beautiful Bath soundtrack - I hope you like it.
