Although I've been experimenting with uploading RECords, lately, I had yet to find a project here that inspired me to collaborate. After sifting through the sTiTchToWn files, however, I found a project I'd love to join in on--if you'll have me.

Joe mentioned long ago that he wanted to include tangible RECords...I haven't created any silk paintings in over eight years and it felt like the right time to begin anew. This album is a RECord of the silk painting I'm working on for the sTiTchToWn files. At some point, if the sTiTch project ends up as an exhibition of some sort, I'd be honored if this piece of filmy, drifting silkiness could travel with the film/book/musical/whatever-the-project-becomes. If not, I have my own piece of sTiTchToWn to touch.

Many thanks to the amazing artists who created the cloudy, balloony image that makes up the most regularly-identified icon of moonbug's story.

If this project gains some traction in the group, I could put together several additional panels--hangings that can float from the ceiling around a room, with pictures of vehicles, landscapes, and skyscapes to give an exhibition some ambiance. I can use different weights of silk and any number of shapes and sizes. I can even find clothing blanks--scarves and shawls, silk shirts and ties, etc.--that can be dyed and decorated. I can't sew, but maybe someone can give me a hand.

After a long-ass hiatus, I've finished the main body of the piece. The colors have been steam set and now I have to take it to the drycleaners to get the resist off. Next will be the outlines. Not sure yet how I'm going to tackle them--contemplating using fabric markers. Hmm.
