Featured Artists for a HitRECord Art Show 12/26/10

Taking a cue from FilmPunk, I thought I would go ahead and make a list of artists that could easily be featured in a HitRECord Art Show. In this album, I'll say why I chose this person or personette, and put three RECords of theirs as examples. This list is just one of many I plan on releasing in the future. So, in no particular order, let's get this rolling!

1. JacksonBlack - Each RECord on their page is a gem on their own, and among them are the most beautiful remixes of tiny stories.

2. Matt Conley - Easily one of my favorite hitRECorders, Matt Conley has proven himself to be a remarkable artist. From video remixes, to really fantastic artwork, witty fake histories, and gorgeous photographs (and those things only being the tip of the iceberg), he deserves a spot on this list.

3. Wirrow - Another one of our greatest hitRECorders, the mysterious Wirrow has cemented himself in our community with his dazzling artwork, music, and videos. Not only that, he's responsible for some of the most beloved Collaborations here on hitRECord.

4. Fati - An amazing artist, I sincerely enjoy their work and always look forward to the release of new records from this incredibly talented user.

5. Monika Dekowska - Her work is a mix of stunning paintings, sketches, and photographs that have a dark side to them. Her reel contains some of my favorite pieces on HitRECord.

6. amahnee - Even though amahnee is a new hitRECorder I think the minimalist style of what she has put up so far can easily be featured in a pop art show. I really look forward to what she'll put up next.

7. layla - She's put up some of the most splendid remixes I've seen thus far, her work is stylistic and sharp, and the way the images overlay are really catching.

8. Inked Canvas - A Jane-of-all-trades, Inked Canvas has a plethora of exquisite pieces from voice overs, magnificent photos, and brilliant pieces of writing. I seriously love her work.

9. xobreexo23 - A multi-talented, delightful user whose work always has a bit of whimsy mixed in all of her pieces that I just adore.

I think Joe said it best when he said "The meaning comes after."

There's a lot going on in this RECord that I can't truly explain. When I edit, I'm really just piecing together what *feels* right. This felt right to me.

Feeling doesn't always transition into understanding. And that's the power of creation. And art itself.

Lukus' "Accents" put me in a particular state of mind and I went exploring through the site to find visuals that emoted the audio. GimikJo has an excellent compilation album from earlier today and that was a big help. Also searching by "tags" is always a great way to find pieces to the puzzle. And some RECords, like "A Boy's Dream," are sitting in the back of my mind (and saved on my computer) just waiting for the right project.

So, here's "Dream Ascension." I'd love to hear what everyone's interpretations are.

a sort of stream of consciousness-y thing ive been writing lately. i saw this timelapse vid today by bluebudgie and was really inspired to experiment with it. i understand how this might be seen as political or preachy or offensive.. but i honestly dont mean to be any of those things. it is directed at me more than anyone else. there's a lot of literary reference nod's in the text.

Burning-dan

I would like to celebrate my one hundred record with a dAN's portrait.
I have read in HitRecord some things about Dan, which I have been a profound impact on them. I have a portrait of him and I would like it to share with all of you, here and now. Nathan said once: "I am still imagine what sparkle in his eyes" This image has impressed in my insides of a very intensity way. I've never met him in person, by the way I can understand his talent and his full personality. Now I feel lucky to know about him thanks to Hitrecord web page.
Nathan's sentence makes me to see the look in Dan's eyes. A look which wanted to explain who were him, an extraordinary person who knew how to help people to be themselves.

I saw his warm, face to face look. A look without not pretension, a look of a good person. By his sparkling eyes he passed on all his enthusiasm to us. His spirit had expressed itself in his "Big Bang-eyes". This sparkle is the origin of the universes which him began once and still follow to expand them.

I have preparing a collaboration related with dAN, and I would be pleased to show to all of you soon.

I love TwistedThursday's short story, I always wondered what the Princess's side of the story was, so I just wanted to play with the idea. I was also wondering if I could try a little experiment with you guys. I made this little film of mine black and white gave little detail to the environment, as a way of giving you guys the rest of control. Kind of like a big coloring book that turns in a story. You can print it out for some hand made illustrations or photoshop it. Go crazy! This is such a plain atmosphere, which is no fit for a princess add some crazy shannigans please. Make the leaves orange and pink or add a penguin with a tuxedo. Its just a small experiment of mine,and I'm curious

This what it feels like to me after telling one little harmless lie, then telling a slightly bigger lie to cover that lie then an even bigger lie to cover that one. As the whole process continues sometime you just want to reveal this circus of secrets that grew inside you...oh and I saw Dumbo far too many times :P
