I had a tough time deciding, but here are the ones that I would especially love to see in Recollections volume 1:

Image

1) Stitchpunk [coloured] : Imaginative illustration + lovely colouring. And I love how it inspired its own story and slew of interesting characters.

2) Oh shit : The fish's expression is priceless.

3) Tiny story: "miracles" : Beautiful picture.

4) i consume myself : Twistedly fascinating.

5) Owl of Boatmeal : Creative and nicely put together.

Text

1) A Mathematician's Approach to Love, or U + Me = ? (short story) by fractaldust: Clever, interesting and fun reading.

2) City Systematic v.2 : Interesting and I like the mental images.

3) Owl of Boatmeal: As an accompaniment for the Owl of Boatmeal art - I like the rhythm of this.

(I've a feeling I may be forgetting something I wanted to add. It's late. I'm old. Will edit to add if I remember.)

Audio

1) Sunday Evening : First heard this when I watched 12.42's Herringbone Hat opening titles. Went on to listen to the full song and fell in love with it.

2) Herringbone Hat remixes - Philip and Channing's Live Reading of "The Man In the Herringbone Hat": REmix / The Man in the Herringbone Hat - Radio Play : Ok, I couldn't decide between the two. There were effects in both that I liked. I enjoyed the voices, music and general atmosphere in the first, and also liked the additional appropriately (imo) added sound effects in the second.

3) Painty Hands Song! : Just such a fun and light-hearted song.

4) Fairtrade agreement: It isn't complete, so I'm not sure about re-rec-ing this for the CD, but I adore both the tune and the lyrics, and the first verse sounds good. :D

Undecided whether to continue refining the colouring as originally planned, or leave it as is... i think the slight roughness complements the patchwork theme.
Living in a world without colours would make me sad. Edit: omgwtfbbqcopter, featured?! Eee, thank you! <3

Wordplay a friend (http://hitrecord.org/users/silverladder) thought up: "... My mind is constantly running; constantly playing with words, even when I'm not consciously doing it. No joke. So the phrase 'bowl of oatmeal' was in my head this morning... My mind started messing with the letters in the words and suddenly I thought, 'Owl Of Boatmeal!'"

I like to call the squid Quaken.

commits to a dangerous plight.

leftcoastjane had an excellent suggestion for the previous version. She suggested the music be turned down a bit to emphasize the readings of "The Man In the Herringbone Hat" by Philip and Channing.

This is the REmix, with adjusted sound volumes.

I know I'm late to the party and all, but I was really intrigued by Joe's old proposal to make The Man in the Herringbone Hat into a radio play, and did my best to make it a la GUN SMOKE. :D It's remarkably silly, but that's okay. I really liked experimenting with sound -- I've been strictly visual in the past, so it was interesting to work with something that had absolutely no visuals. A lot of inspiration came from MattConley's 'Live Reading', but I did all my own edits and such.

Philip Baker Hall narrating, with Channing Tatum as the Man, and Rian Johnson as the young narrator.

RJ's reading was a lot faster than the others, so I did a lot of editing with the timings, and slowed his voice down, also making it lower. It's not quite right, but I like it anyway. :D

K inspiration struck and I had to act! A little ditty for the lovely Lula and whoever needs a smile :)

Lyrics if you wanna join in are:

Painty hands I saw a minute
So I emptied what was in it
And wrote a little song for you
Tied a ribbon round the words
And put the words into a verse
I hope you like it, it’s the best that I can do

And if a minute was an hour
And a petal was a flower
Then I’d be all the people I know
To be my friends would be a pleasure
Every buddy is a treasure
And walking in their shoes will help me grow

So this song has just three pieces
No refrains and no releases
A trio of melodic rhymey chunks
It’s a simple little ditty
Let’s get to the nitty gritty
Painty Hands I hope this tune debunks your funks
