1. Favourite prose
That Which Was Our Friendship by phenomenaaa
Almost every one of Phen’s writings I fall in love with but this stands out to me the most. It is a powerful piece of writing and every line I could relate to in some way or another. I honestly broke out in tears upon first reading this along with Pam’s reading…but we’ll get to that in a minute.
2. Favourite poem
Patterns and Prayers by RegularJOE
Each time I reread this poem I notice different bits that stand out to me for different reasons. I like to think those are the best kind of poems.
3. Favourite animation
Tiny Story Ad Remix by InterNTNL_Lyn
Lyn took what was as is a wonderfully creative to display many of the popular Tiny Stories and transformed it into a beautifully fluid piece of animation all strung together with voiceovers playing along with the running animation.
4. Favourite video
Any of the KNIT-u-LARITYs by alpal and crispyfuller
Not just one, but a series of awesome videos instead. Each time I hear from either alpal or crispy that a KNIT-u-LARITY is either being filmed or edited I get beyond excited. Each and every one of the KNIT-u-LARITIES has been pure HitRECord comedy gold from poking fun at the boss man to discussing how nothing is happening in the Mitten.
5. Favourite song
Hand Puppets by mikeregannoise
An abundantly fun little tune that I’ve been listening to for weeks and still haven’t gotten tired of. I really hope I don’t.
6. Favourite audio RECord
That Which Was Our Friendship by pamagotchi
Ah, back to That Which Was Our Friendship again. As I said in talking about my favorite prose, That Which Was Our Friendship, I cried upon reading it because it moved me so much because I could relate to much of it. When I heard pam’s beautiful reading of it I burst into tears all over again, maybe even crying harder than I had the first time. Any time I cry in hearing or reading a piece of writing it sticks with me as something so movingly beautiful. Both the reading and prose embody this painful beauty so stunningly, I don’t think I can ever forget them.
7. Favourite Illustration
Dirty by hingg
I love love love love painting, especially paintings that seem to have be created with watercolors. Dirty (which I believe was made with watercolors) takes what would’ve been a normal painting and transforms it into a mischievous sort of feeling with a few smudges of darker paint. Whether it was intentional or accidental I think it makes this painting all the better.
8. Favourite photography
The chapel of nowhere... by belcath1981
The Chapel of nowhere is a breathtakingly dark, yet also very pretty picture taken by belcath1981. Hauntingly beautiful, one of my new favorite categorize as of late and this fits it to a T
9. Favourite collab
RECord Challenge Collab by crispyfuller
The entire idea of challenging other recorders to do, well challenging records is pure brilliance. The one record that I did for this collab so far has been one of my personal favorites and I hope I get to push myself and other recorders even more with more challenges through this collab.
10. Favourite remix
Underwater Collage by Dolphin170
The idea of taking records normally used as backgrounds and textures and pushing them to be the sustenance of an image is extremely creative and takes a lot of talent in my opinion to pull it off and get it to look nice. Dolphine170 did this swimmingly, no pun intended!
11.Favourite Tiny Story
T-Rex by Catness
How could you not love T-Rex?
12. Favourite fictional character
This is probably a little cheap; maybe even cheating too but come on...it has to be Metaphorest's very own Morgan M. Morgansen. Such a loveable good hearted guy who wouldn’t want to befriend him?
13. Favourite Specialty Record
Bagels by thesherbethead
For lack of a better title for this record I’ll place it under specialty. Because if Bagels isn’t special, then I don’t know what is.
14. HitRECorder of the Year
CrispyFuller
Crispyfuller, hands down. I’ve never been so envious of talent and ideas that have come from one person, yet at the same time so in love with the person behind that wonderful art that I want to continually support them no matter how much I wish for their skills. As insane as it sounds this completely defines how I feel about the amazing art Crispy seems to churn one after the other. Not only does Crispy create some of the most fantastic art, she is also a terrific HitRECorder in terms of always thinking of ways to get recorders together to create records that are truly creatve in gathering us together. I hope she realizes what an important HitRECorder she is and how much of an influence she is in my own records. <3
15. RECord of the Year
To Those Who Weren't As Lucky (Video) by Teafaerie.
Teafaerie, as if it hasn’t been said before radiates so much beauty it’s impossible not to love her. Her talent displayed in all of her records is beyond inspiring as well. Her small hands unfolding those equally small pieces of paper is so strikingly heartbreaking but also uplifting. I couldn’t said it better than Layla: wow wow wow!
