These are my bkgd/texture RECords of or related to wood.

I'm including the whale skull photos because they resemble wood, even though they aren't.

See also my "Plant life" and "Misc Nature" albums in the backgrounds/textures collab.

OK, technically I think this was where a make-shift door latch used to be, not the hinge. At any rate, I think this kinda looks like a cartoon-y guy with a backpack.

I also think it's interesting how much the bare wood looks like roast beef if you zoom in on it. Maybe someone here needs a roast beef texture for something. 'Cause that sort of thing comes up all the time.

This was a branch above my head. Along Lake Merritt, Oakland, CA, where there was a lot of construction work recently (see "Done for the day"); maybe that's what wounded this poor tree.

DeLiLaH asked for a wide angle view of the tree, so I went to get one, and noticed something I hadn't before. It's in the original photo too, but here's a better shot. Looks like a face, doesn't it? I figured it might be fun for someone to play with here. I'm uploading a few shots of this tree now.

(Actually, in the thumbnail I saw while uploading this, it almost looked like a Munsch-style painting!)

It's sideways. I didn't bother rotating the photo 'cause anyone who wants to use it can if they want!

For the backgrounds & textures collab (by way of my albums).

I didn't bother to rotate this. Obviously, if you use it, you can rotate it any which way!

I know, I know, more tree bark. ;)

This one struck me for the variety of colors and light-to-dark shading (the way the sun was).

Vine_texture

This is kinda disgusting—it looks like one of those scrubby sponges after cleaning a burnt-on pan, doesn't it? It's the remnants of vines that covered a surface (as it happens, on an abandoned building in Oakland, CA) but are now dead. At any rate, it could give some texture to something, right?

Shot from across the street with a zoom lens. I suppose I could've just photographed the scrubby side of my kitchen sponge!
