I won't even pretend to try to do these on a regular basis. That means, of course, that I miss out on re-recommending lots of deserving RECords, but here are some I'm not missing! These aren't all necessarily recent RECords (though some are), just ones I've been enjoying lately.
In no particular order:
[illustration] i live in the forest (cacheth)—One of those RECords I came across and was ready to recommend, but scrolled over and discovered I already had. That said to me, Time for a re-rec!
Traditions in the Tree Lot (A Tale of How They Met) (phenomenaaa)—This was such a charming story. I loved the way it told just enough, but so much was left to the imagination. And yet it doesn't feel like just the beginning of a story; it can be complete as it is.
Venezuel, Caracas (far-eviler)—far-eviler has a bunch of these amazing drawings. This was my favorite, but I recommend you look at them all if you haven't yet!
Marvellous Marv (Metaphorest)—Lots of people have been getting into this little story/rhyme. Not only is it wonderful in itself, it's been bringing out some really cool illustrations!
Lighthouse (emmaD)—a RECord I rediscovered recently. It's just beautiful, but just as beautiful are emmaD's comments in the description section.
When the sun sets... (belcath1981)—just a really gorgeous RECord.
Dream interpretation collab (Pickle Blossom)—Can't put a collab in an album, so I put the icon in. This collab is not only fun (and I've gotten quick interaction with both my contributions), but it seems to me that it could be a really good place to go for some inspiration for stories, illustrations, animations, and even music or sound RECords.
Bora Bora (vicuna)—stunning photograph. I was momentarily transfixed when it came up on my computer screen.
SHELLS, and coming out of them (fractaldust)—an all-around great tiny story. Calls for illustrations and/or animations, I think.
Inside an Abandoned Factory (Spazticpanda)—This photo is really compelling to me, not only because I love that sort of thing (urban ruins, decay, etc.) but also because it seems to me that it could be really useful for those of you who remix photos and images. It's also beautifully done, IMO. It's part of an album of Spazticpanda's urban exploration (urbex), which you should peruse. There seem to be lots of great photos to enjoy and/or remix in there. [I posted as a result on one of them a RECord with other resources and links relating to urban & industrial ruins; it's also in my hitrecord.edu collab.]
