Sounds that fill me up, and empty me out... Favourite hitrecord songs <3 ...and musicmakers:
Unfortunately my accordion strap broke, but another one is on the way, which means I'll be writing more accordion songs, but for now the piano will have to do.
first track on album 'spilt milk', but copyright shmoppyrights. right? rights.
and someone asked for the lyrics:
drag your feet, keep your life strapped to your shoulders.
if you don't carve your age into your belt, you wont get any older
it's a mixed up masquerade, a penniless arcade
every face a frown, oh what a crazy town
hang your head, they'll steal the toes right off of your feet
you're lucky to count all ten, when you're living on the street
its a story thats been told, a body thats been sold
'round and around and around. oh what a crazy town
(see) joy around here comes in a little pink balloon
and if you got out of here yesterday it wouldn't be too soon
it's a cardboard palisade, a pocket change brigade
every way is down. oh what a crazy town
Second track off of 'Spilt Milk'. Have at it!
Nothing like a good ol' beating
to make a proper fool out of me
I've taken a torch to everything i own
and shamed my family.
I keep a will in my back pocket.
Another one is tucked in my boot.
And if you're lucky enough to see me coming,
don't hesitate before you shoot.
But I'm gonna go to church on sunday.
Make a proper fool out of me.
Lord, let me make it to sunday.
To wash all of my sins clean.
I'm gonna disappear in the evening.
Take flight before the sun bleeds.
And don't ask the sky for no reason,
or shake me down by my trail of rosary beads.
There's nothing you can pray I aint prayed for
nothing you can say I aint heard
no morning I don't wake up shaking
God damn I hate that mocking bird.
But I'm gonna go to church on Sunday
-make a proper fool out of me.
Lord, let me make it to Sunday
to wash all of my sins clean.
Okay, so this is extremely rough like most of my songs except 30 million times more. But I literally recorded this and put it up here. If people want a more polished one I'll re-record it. So yeah, I wrote this I think two years ago. It was the first real song I ever wrote. ever. I recorded it, and then my computer crashed and it was lost, and then I came back across it recently, and so here it is again reincarnated! Enjoy! By the way: Not for anyone's child. I don't have kids, because i'm only in highschool! So, yeah, just to clear that up.... Lyrics: Sing to the wind above, sing to the stars can you hear the voice whispering in your ear, Chorus: Sleep rest your head close your eyes and dream your life away (x3) Sing to the stars Look how beautiful they are Sing to the stars above Sing your lullaby Chorus
I know Wirrow said he didn't like his singing on this track
but i thought it was beeeautiful. So I just sang along!
I think it would be pretty if we got more soft singing on this
& made it like a chorus.
Metaphorest beautiful poem put to music. The guitar, vocals, cello and shaker were done by myself and the other shaker and the drum was done by my brother Dougie Mackie aka Fameless. Producer: Dougie Mackie Recorded through a radio Mic I couldnt find a shaker around the house so I made one out of a medicine bottle, cocoa pops and sugar. The drum was a big cardboard tub with a plastic lid. haha. Seems really odd. If anyone wants to put a harmony on top you are more than welcome!
Had this tune in my head for ages and Joe's words fit perfectly. Et voila! Kept it simple so do add whistles and bells and voices as well!
And happy pre-birthday Joe! <3
