when we were invisible everything was on fire and it started with a glitch wandering back from the deathly rain into a Scrimp N Save dreaming of a garden to bury things in while rowing a boat gently down the stream merrily dreaming life is but nothing big. all this occurring in exactly eleven minutes and eleven seconds. All sounds on this RECording were REmixed from the RECords resourced. No addtional instrumentation was added. ~Robo J
This music was conjured up one inspiring evening in the fall of 2008, in my then-dwellings of Laguna Beach, CA ~ RE:RECorded the parts of the original demo guitar loop using my trusty Strat
The title "Molinos" comes from the Spanish word for "mills" (as in windmills) which is where my family's surname originates from. I named it such for the music, in a sense, reminded me of the gears of a windmill.

ChigWinkle's reading of Jules' "The Gleeful Gloam" put with original music I created, specifically for this reading.
Music was made/mixed via Ableton Live Lite (v.8)
Worked my ass off to get the volume levels correct. Hopefully, it sounds decent.

Lonely as stars may become, restless in dark skies above,
They never tire, rust or expire, leaving their wishes fulfilled.
This I could be unto you, laughing all the way through,
Falling and rising, though never disguising the constant rush of the thrill.
(ooh) Roll, roll with the tide.
As though I was just a grain of sand, washed back and forth on the sand,
With you as the sea, watching over me, I've nothing to lose or to fear.
And sometimes the roles are reversed, in that which we cannot rehearse,
This play we call life, the joy and the strife, perform with a smile and a tear.
(ooh) Roll, roll with the tide.
A fire still burns the by and by, a flame I could never deny,
Honest and just, a symphonic lust, pulling me ever to you.
So let's ride this wave to the end, guiding the break and the bend,
The tide will roll on, present and calm, sharing this love born anew.
(ooh) Roll, roll with the tide.

I have always always felt sad when Pam experiences internet lag when on tinychat, sometimes behind by 2-3 minutes. seriously, it happens almost everytime. So, when I found out that Pam was my Secret Somethings receipent, I thought of writing a song with that in mind. I wrote this yesterday evening as I was on the road back to California from Arizona, riding along the dark desert highway. Recorded with one mic, straight through. I used my dad's wall clock to keep in time, funny enough.
Happy Valentine's Day Pamela, our beautiful time-traveller saint <3
The Ballad of St. Pamela
Near the brook that winds and bends
Where the barley and wheat grows far and wide
There lives a lady of beauty so fair
With the world at her feet and a skip to her stride
With radiant dark hair that billows and curls
Her smile makes the townmen fall sure and fast
An enchanting twist lies to this bonny lass
For she dwells in time, between the present and the past
It's only a minute or two she's behind
But, of course, in these days that feels like forever
Though she always faces her lag with a laugh
That brings gentle light to her silly endevour
Her friends don't seem to mind it that much
In fact, they encourage her safe journey home
Back to the "now" from "just a moment ago"
And enjoy her presence whenever it's shown
One day she'll finally join us, I'm sure
Free of her time-space continuum constraint
Her fable is treasured, and she'll forever be known
As Pamela of Scotland, the time-traveler Saint
Originally recorded on 10/9/09. No lyrics/melody. Recently remixed it with my updated Ableton.

In honor of RegularJoe's birthday, I put this together. Happy Birthday Joe. Thanks for making this amazing place <3
Inspired by my sister's dream of making her own zombie movie, I made this little piece of music of how I envisioned the survivors surveying the ruins before them.
Alpal is in there... somewhere... hehe.
Have fun with it.
My first bit of instrument music made with the Shadow Beings in mind. I imagined midlights and noondays welcoming the day, with possibly an adventure? Hmm... I'm still thinking of themes and motifs, but this is a good foot to start on.
I end the piece with a shift... as the sun sets, and we make into the "Gloam" section, perhaps?
<3
While experimenting with sound & music ideas for the Shadow Beings, I messed with this sound idea, put under Pam's haunting reading of Metaphorest's poem.
This has been quite a challenging experiment, and part of that challenge has been finding the best idea for how music made for the Shadow Beings would/could sound. Somber & dark? Or... bright & whimsical? I think it can be either/or and anything in between, and this is more of a darker idea...
But, it's the first of many.

On the occasion of my 100th RECord, I've made a REmix of TongueCutSparrow's beautiful song, based on the poem by IslandProphet. I hope you like it. It's been quite a challenge, but an enjoyable one, working on it
HitRECord has, quite literally, changed my life, in many ways. I have found a wonderful place to create and share, and the friendships I've made from that I would never trade.
Thanks hitRECord for giving me a reason to hit REC

WARNING: it may be a bit loud.
A small experiment in remixing vocals to some old & new music work.
the wonderful alyssa (aszarkowski) is sampled, as well as alpal's reading of the "ghost" poem, which i thought could fit into it somehow.
Vocal experiments included remixing alyssa's different readings, and playing the remixed vocal through a resonated-delay-treatment, and remixing her vocal into a more thinner small-speaker sound and put with the delay. i remixed alpal's vocal by tweaking EQ and adding larger reverb. The main drum beat and arpeggio motif I've had for a few months. The arpeggiating part is run through a delay setting i messed around with. New sounds are near the middle and end, including the synth and ambient sounds. The guitar part is from an old jam session a few months ago, with my guitar being put through my trusty BOSS delay and Slicer pedal. I let you figure out where it appears, teehee.
This is by no means a finished version, and I plan to do some more remixing to it soon. Maybe even add some more RECords to it.
Hope you enjoy it.
Oh, and listen with headphones too. [wink]
Recorded, programmed, arranged and mixed via Ableton Live Lite (v.8). Guitar recorded live via Ableton at 17th Street Recordings, Costa Mesa, CA.
This music was written in November, 2010. My words were written sometime around then, and I later put them with the music. The drums are the oldest, having been created almost a year before then, bounced from an old demo. Synth parts were added December, 2010. I added my own vocals overthe first part and chorus.
The last part to be added was Aszarkowski's vocals, which were a VO of a poem by Metaphorest. I liked the vocals, and in finding the key, happily discovered that it more-or-less matched my song, so after some snip-snips and time-adjusting, I did my best to fit it into this piece of music, which (in my opinion) worked out pretty well :)
I added a small "intro" - just because.
I felt another "gap" open if anyone wants to add to it. Still work-in-progress.
I hope you like it.
Warm thanks to Aszarkowski's beautiful voice and Metaphorest's beautiful words for filling my pages with color <3
Lyrics:
I am under your pressure.
Wild-eyed and careless,
I've done enough to trouble the peace built between us.
Constantly shifting,
Unannounced and instant,
As plates would below the earth.
I ask for no pardon, I ask for no favor,
Unable to surrender in this evr-constant warfare.
Though the trenches are flooded,
The letters are scattered about,
And one man alone must walk across the bones.
Long gone from home.
Unlock the doors and blow the windows open,
Stop the clocks and leave no truth unspoken
Although when living true you may feel lost
A thousand times, the prize is worth the cost
Let down the walls and drop all the pretences
Dismantle the trapdoors and barbed (wire) fences
Invite the good, the bad, the beauty in
Through once thick skin, now beautifully thin
Long gone from home.
Vocals (mine), sampled vocals (alyssa), acoustic guitar and synths - recorded, arranged and mixed via Ableton Live Lite (v.8), programmed drums via v.6
added some beats. <3
Originally written & recorded in late-2008, with programing/production assistance from Jourdan Gallemore (DJ BoneLife). REmastered with new vocals, recorded 2/22/11.
If you'd like the instrumental and/or isolated vocals, let me know and I'll happily pass them along.
words, music & performance by me.
Lost in confusion of whether I've been here before
Recalling less of that which I once knew of more
Gold in the water, wonder if it's saie to swim
Think it's alright, so I guess I'll just jump right in
Unfamiliar & Encanting
Wonder where it takes me to
Crooked paths begin unwinding
Leading me to some place new
Little one lost in the garden, will he find his way back home
No need to worry, let him walk, let him roam...
And I suddenly remembered what it felt like to breathe
And I suddenly remembered what it felt like...
To live without cause
To move without pause
To have air fill my lungs, and say nothing.

REmix of Joe's original RECord, featuring myself with Dusty, Amy, Unusual Suspect, KittyPimms and Ginella.
this is the FIRST version for the collab. this isn't the "final" (technically, there is no final version, haha). But I will add more contributions as I get to them. I just downloaded Joe's original stems, so I will get to work mixing those along with new added vocals.
Many wonderful thanks to those to added their voices to the song. Did my best to mix everybody in there. Hope you enjoy

really liked how this came out on my Mega Mix, and so I made it as its own RECord. I restructured some of the parts, and added a electric guitar solo for the end.
I added the vinyl sound to mimic those awesome 1960s garage band 7" 45rpm singles that are now relics of an earlier RECording age.
Hope you enjoy it.

When will I see you again,
my lover and my friend?
It's been so long since I've heard your song, as Autumn brings the Summer to an end.
Tell me where will you go, from the hills you only knew?
To the scene of great watery green, or to the lands where the stray winds once blew?
So Lover, sink down with me
Into the depths of this dark, blue sea
Sink down with me
Down into this unforgiven sea
Oh what things you do to me, in our decadent dreams.
Wrap me in your silly ways, and sway me again for hours upon end.
This is our time to fly, towards our chosen limitless skies.
And I will not hesitate to take the fall, for breaking all the rules we used to bend.
