This one really had an impact on me. I couldn't imagine my military husband being buried somewhere like this. There are so many of these.. they are all the same. "US Soldier" they read... unidentified souls who died for me and for my freedom and here they are, without a name on their tombstone. Their family, wives and children even, never knew where their body rested. I just can't imagine.
It's been a while since I RECorded, mostly because I've been thinking about where I want to go with my (very amatuer) photography. Previously, I'd been snapping pictures with my iPhone 4 and Kodak Point-and-shoot camera. Today, however, marks a new chapter in my creative life.
The morning was cool as I flung the front door open, squinting my eyes at the person ringing the bell. Oh, it's the FEDEX guy and he's about to make this the best day I've had in a long time. He's delivering my Canon EOS Rebel XTi and I'd already received my Canon EF-S 18-55mm lens a day or two ago. The day was at my feet as I hopped into my Ford EDGE and decided to explore my new home (as a military wife, my husband and I just moved to New Mexico in May '11).
I'm still getting used to this amazing camera and I can't wait to discover everything that I haven't learned yet. I love seeing everything through this lens.
I give you, my first photo taken with my new love. <3
