With the collab exploding (awesome:) I thought I'd make a little album of my picks (and I hope others do the same):
PANDORA'S BOX
Pandora's Box - a not so tiny story by kellyS, Pandora's Box Idea-Not So Tiny Stories by LydiaSaskia, Concept art for Pandora's Box by kellyS
I think adapting this myth could be amazing. The visuals alone would be magical, but I really think the music for this could be great. Also with a Greek myth, the stories are well known and timeless, but since there's no ONE text, we have some room to write our own personal REmix. Also, a narrator fits in well (this is also tied into the myth of Prometheus bringing fire to man, which could be a cool addition).
ORPHEUS AND EURYDICE
Orpheus and the Underworld/Orpheus and Eurydice
For the same reasons as mentioned above, I think a Greek myth is perfect for this project. This is another suggestion in which music could be very ominous and rich and and the it lends itself really well to visuals.
EROS AND PSYCHE
Eros And Psyche by ChrisStorms, Eros and Psyche Concept Art by Chris Storms, Cupid and Psyche by nerdyamanda13, Cupid and Psyche Concept Art by RedHeadMonster, Cupid and Psyche (again) by Eleana, Erotic Psychotic by RegularJOE
Another great myth to interpret, and one that's not done often. I think we could really give this the "hitrecord" treatment and make it our own.
PETER PAN
Peter Pan by J.M.Barrie by Gimik Jo
I think having this set to music could be amazing. Plus I think a story like this lends itself to multiple narrators - kind of like a reader's theatre kind of thing. Making visuals for this could be a really fun combo of live action and animation.
WIZARD OF OZ
Wizard of Oz by swaylooza
Although we all know the movie version of this, the text is actually different (and darker). If we did an interp of the text and not the movie, we could really make this our own. And again, it could lend itself to a performance with multiple narrators.

I love that story of Pandora's Box, but i haven't really seen it anywhere filmwise, (or i haven't been looking hard enough.) There would be loads of oppotunities in developing this,&... |

This is the classic Greek myth of how Orpheus's wife, Eurydice, dies on their wedding day and he journeys into Hades to find her. Several great operas have been based off of this tale - Orfeo ed Eu...

I probably have a very religious bias in suggesting this, but I love this story and how it goes over the complexities of love while being a simple philosophical metaphor: When love (Eros) is truly ...

I thought this was a beautiful story from Greek Mythology that I don't see adapted very often, and, considering all the different elements and emotions within it, thought it would be a worthy pr... |

Yes, I realise this has already been suggested, but this was the one I thought straight away (and couldn't hurt its chances, if several people suggest it, and pile up reasons why:). ... |

Just a possible title if we were to adapt the myth of Eros and Psyche. But is there one outstanding classic text telling their tale?

I wanted to sketch out an actual narative scene for Eros and Psyche, rather than simply a picture of the two of them together (really, you'll rarely ever see me used "Cupid" in this regards. Just sayin'). In the story, even though Psyche is not supposed to see Eros's face, they do have sex like a normal married couple and do so for months, so I think of them as having this seed of deep trust between them even though the secret lies there between them. It's really only broken when the sisters come and visit and give Psyche the idea that her husband is the monster the Oracle said he is that there's real trouble, and it reflects that most loving relationships do have a period like this, where the other does no wrong and it's just sweet intimate bliss in their minds. I wanted to capture a moment of that kind of innocent, trusting love between them before the actual problems of their relationship come to (literal) light by having Psyche blowing out the lamp while Eros is at the same time taking off her blindfold. Obvious liberties here, since they met in a dark room in the original story.
Okay, so technically - techincally - I skipped a day, but you know what? It's only an hour after midnight, so this counts as a thing of the day.
I tried doing concept art for more of the not-so-tiny stories, but the only one I got anywhere with was Cupid and Psyche. I tried to make them look vaguely like they stepped off some Greek pottery only, you know, clothed. Unsure if I succeeded. Whatever. I've been staring at this picture for about thirteen hours straight. I have no objectivity anymore.
