Stuff I love, now organized neatly.
And now for something completely different - a mix tape/CD/playlist/etc, etc! I decided to make a video talking about it both for fun and to test and see how well my webcam works, which is pretty well. Unlike my camera, this microphone only gives me a partial lisp.
Warning: this is nine and a half minutes long (but relatively lo-res so it should not be stuck in encoding limbo). In my defense, I'm discussing thirteen different tracks. That's under a minute per track. So there.
Also, if you thought Joe said "um" a lot, this is a whole new realm of "um"s. Screw an um song, this could be an um symphony. With movements. And that's not including the ones I managed to edit out.
Holy crapballs, last week I got a lot of hearts. I don't know if that was because it was a video or because it was a mix, but consider this an experiment in order to find out. If the answer was "video", I'll keep doing these, and if not, we can go back to a purely epistolary relationship. So now, with 175% more verbal waffling, babbling, considerably fewer ums, and tons more remixing suggestions, my re-RECs.
Note: No, it's not just you, this does go weirdly pixelated in the middle. There's something wrong with the file, and I have no idea how to fix it. Just roll with it, okay? You are not losing anything vital by having my face kind of look like it's comprised of Legos.
...it would be so much cooler if the explanation really was that may face was comprised of Legos.
Re-RECs for the week! I've decided on weeks where I have fewer things to rec and more to say to do videos, and on weeks where I have lots of recs I just need to power through to write, because who wants to listen to fifteen minutes of me talking? No one.
Also, is it just me or do I sound really tired and depressed in this video? I'm not, but man, I sound gloomy. I blame the weather, which is gray and decidedly not June-like.
This week's re-RECs featuring weird faces! A strangely large number of ums! A random art history aside on Gustav Kilmt! A cameo by my dog at the end! The excitement, it never ceases.
This week's re-recs, like a boss.
Behold, my super-enthused re-recs, this time at full length! (Why did it only save three minutes the first time? I don't get it.) Oddly mainstream of me, for this week. I think all of these things have at least ten hearts. I'm such a sell-out.
Also, I am not kidding, any of you with reviews of flipcams, good or bad? Leave 'em in the comments. I'd like to get one so my face stops being so pixelated, but fear spending money.
Re-RECs, a little late, but I totally had other things to do today. Like, uh, sleeping until noon. And then taking another nap. And that really addictive game I just downloaded! And... yeah that was pretty much the only other stuff I did today.
It's Sunday. So sue me.
Man, productivity and I were in a fight today. I just could not get myself motivated to edit these, but a little late is better than never, right? Featuring yawning, my dog attempting to cash in on Dr. Gory's dog's fame, weather that makes me look like a douche, me quoting Salt 'N Pepa, and me encouraging people to show me their underwear.
In the future, I should probably just not talk when I've had an entire week of insomnia.
Edit: Some of these title cards are incorect. Let's pretend they're not. I'm running on really little sleep right now, okay.
Re-RECs containing texture tips, collaboration ideas, shameless peer pressure, Skype interruptions, and visibly flagging energy by the end, because I'd messed up so many times that filming took twice as long as usual. But better late than never, right? Let's go with that, because I had a lot of work yesterday, and my Sundays until... January-ish are going to be occasionally busy like that, so we're all just going to have to accept me occasionally having to do this. Again, you guys, it's not you, it's my job.
Also, you all know my policy about not re-REC'ing featured stuff, but in my defense I had already cut that part of the video when I refreshed a page to check something and BAM, featured. Whatever, I liked it before it was cool.
Guess who's back doing re-recs? Because of course I'm sure you all missed me so, so much while I had work on Saturday/Sunday. As you can tell, I recorded this yesterday and forgot to account for the fact that, uh, I was going to be posting it today, but let's just pretend that didn't happen.
Also known as: the punchiest, least well-made re-recs I may ever do. Sorry I'm not sorry.
For some reason, the pictures aren't working on this. I'm too lazy to figure out why, so let's pretend they are and that the video DOESN'T freeze on me making a really weird mid-talking face, kapeesh?
Also from our Department of Corrections: apologies to SojuShots, who I referred to as a girl last week. While that is usually a safe bet on this site, turns out SojuShots is a he. Sorry, dude. Here is my conciliatory fistbump.
This week featuring: Canadians (as always), Kanye West, and over-enthusiastic crackling.
Late due to unforeseen disaster. But done! I did it!
These run a little long, but I have a lot! Of! Feelings! (Also I was stuck in a hotel room and bored.)
And yes, I re-rec'd something that while I was editing, got featured, but I liked it and I discuss a slightly different version, though the same things I say apply to both versions, so whatever. Let's just pretend this all works.
EDIT: For those of you curious, the name of the cafe I refer to is called Roland Park Bagels. Their smoothies are delicious. I have ordered a muffin this morning, so reviews of that are pending.
