Saw this little bit by JGrimm, and I just thought of this piece.
The little story reminds me of something hopeful and happy being melted away, broken down. So I had some bright colors fading away, streaming away to the bottom, and the colors at the bottom are a little duller and everything.
Yup, there ya go.
Did something for C.McCarthy's Anxious Dreamer.
The first thing I thought of when I read that tiny story was a hand trying to grab hold of the dreams. Then when I was drawing, I decided I wanted to show the sleeper, as well as her looking out at all her dreams. So I drew two representations of the dreamers.
All the 'dreams' that you see in there are some of the dreams I recall having when I was younger. I counted sheeps and dreamed of sheeps, and always the flying pigs, of castles and magic, and once, a world where love grows on trees and people visited it for.
Wonderful little story, I think. :D
I realize that this is not much of a blob and stuff like hoped, but I got this idea and couldn't get it out of my head, so I drew it. :P You might see some really shaky lines, because I came back from a game of badminton and went to draw this immediately afterward. I'm such a weakling that my hand trembled.
"this embrace invokes a balance
the two stories have come one."
The idea was to revamp or reinvent one of my old pieces. I used this piece here: IMAGE0004
Yup. So I drew with a cheap (S$2, ha.) fountain pen and colored it in with watercolors. My scanner is doing funky things, so the colors aren't exact, but it's as close as I can make it to be. ;D
Yup, so I drew this piece for 'Autopsy', by dcsweet.
Long story short -
The brain represents the first line, 'what's inside your head'. The hands and the heart represent the second line. The scissors are autopsy tools. The word 'LOVE' can be found on the heart. The face does not have a defined shape as to allude to the 'hallucination' by making it more like an illusion.
I chose to use the scientific rendition of the heart instead of the normal rendition of it in drawings to better suit the work. :D
Well, part of a little challenge I set my friend and myself to. He had to complete an A3 single image (digital), and I had to do two A4 pieces (traditional) and an animation by Thursday (two more days from the point of time I'm writing this).
THIS IS MY FIRST PIECE.
Anyway. I don't know what you guys can do with this, maybe another story, or maybe you can add more monsters to the background or something. Make this a really huge piece. o:
'What is it that you dream of?'
If I dream a lot, I honestly don't know about it, because I either have a really short termed memory, or my brain just doesn't retain my dreams. I can remember maybe one or two dreams that I've ever made, and that's about it.
Watercolor & Fountain Pen. Assignment - color with only shades of brown.
Been wanting to do something ever since I saw this piece of megancarnes'. Finally got off my lazy butt to do something about it.
Decided to do it in black and white this time around.
No lineart this time, because I was being a daredevil and painted right on it.
Also dedicated to my friend, if you see this, you know who you are. :D Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and Bon Voyage.
Just something I thought up when I read the poem.
Hevn and Urth are depicted as two characters here. I kind of drew both of their mouths open to signify that each of them is telling a story. The hands and smoke reaching out and intertwining kind of show that they are still, somehow, in the end, drawn and linked to each other.
Yup. I think there's still things that can be done to it, so if you want to, you know, add some more stuff to it, please do. x-x
I did this just a while back when I read the last stanza of the poem 'A New Hevn', but I never got around to posting it because I haven't colored it or anything. But I figured, hey, you guys might figure something out with this, so yeah. :D
"but we’ll meet again back at the start
with no knowledge of our birth
we'll do it all again, by heart
a new hevn and a new urth."
For the platypus that was never truly of land, he created water.
I was just thinking about how the platypus is a very peculiar creature; the only mammal that lays eggs and can both walk on land and water. So this is what I came up during a class in which I'm supposed to be doing something else (as always).
Because I wanted to draw a menacing lion but ending up drawing a baby lion instead. xD
I don't know, I think you can use this piece to write a small story, or combine it with other images if required. I tried to keep the background as clean as possible for that purpose, but it seems my scanner is turning white paper yellow. I hate it.
