This morning I discovered many caterpillars in a pot in my backyard. I took one little fellow out and filmed him crawling about. Little did I know he wanted me to film him all along to pass on a message :)
A huge thanks to todd68976 for making this record whenever he did because I magically came upon it today & thought it fit perrrfectly. again by heart <3
I read one of Melanne's reREC albums where she suggested honeyboy's text be made into a video. Wellll, I have loved 'i am a hearter' since the first time I read it & jumped at the chance to make something :) I don't know that this is anything like what you had in mind Melanne, but thank you for the jumpstart <3
thank you thank you thank doverpeak &RECorderBelle for the VOs! thank you hitRECord for giving me a place to make a fool of myself.. haha. And apologies to real actors who I may offend by my awful fake sneezing. <3
A project RECorderBelle & I have been collaborating on: the story of Ellory Stel. Let's hope little Ellory is in the cave the next time you make your wish :) Enjoy &remix as you please <33
*The sound effects in this (fire, tv, humming, chimes, and musical box) are from pdsounds.org.*
Twas a cold winter's night
Set to inky purple light
With a chill snowy whisper in the air.
Starlight twinkled, winked, and dimpled
Shining bright and clear and simple
Flirting with the silvery boughs while listening there.
For below the sky attendant
And the gleaming moon, a pendant
Lay a tiny, yellow gingerbread-type home.
And within, as expected
Near a hearth flame-inflected
Sat a young girl warming toetips chilled to bone.
Ellory Stel, a darling daughter
Felt adventure surely called her
And she looked for magic whisked round like a jet.
'Specially on a night like this one
With her parents sharing wisdom
'Tween and 'twixt themselves, the fire, and TV set.
Out the window longly gazing
At the sky, no trace of hazing
Not a cloud to mar the crisp, clear swath of night.
Except one sparkle swiftly dancing
Almost falling, Flash, pure fancy
Surely, little Ellory thought, This can't be right.
With a glance to Mom and Poppa
Back toward the twinkling pop-up
Ellory entranced did see it shoot away.
Skipping light among the treetips
Weaving, trailing glittered twirl-dips
This bright star shimmered up and off to play.
Now our heroine, Ellory Stel
Combed her wits for what to tell
Mom and Poppa, how to get away, investigate.
Girl intrepid, heart a-flutter
Hoping dearly not to stutter
Ellory said, "Well, I think it's getting late.
Off to bed then I'll be going."
Ellory added all while strolling
Up the nearby stairwell quickly and in haste.
"Oh of course dear," They both murmured
Nods and smiles yet not a turner,
But she paused long enough to just make sure.
Yes, success! No parents attentive
Ellory threw her coat on pensive
Could she catch the dancing star with such allure?
Deer-like, running, flying, sprinting
Snowy grassy needles splintering
Ellory made haste from home, and heat, and hearth.
Deep into the silvery forest
Guided by the treetips chorus
And the curious dancing light of that bright star.
Sounds ethereal, walls illumined
She approached a lake entombed in
Dazzling lights against a sweeping cave so grand.
Is this music? Ellory wondered
But with voices flowing under
Ellory paused and caught her breath to understand.
"We are wishes", was the answer
Woven softly, music's banter
Swirling 'round the child as lyrics more and more.
"Won't you hear us, Sweetest Princess?
If you listen, if you grant this
We earth Stars can bring to Life the dreams Lives wish for."
Ellory, hands clasped in awe
Dallied not, no hem or haw
Quickly seated, she began to hear the stars sing.
As she listened, sometimes humming
Ears a-dancing, fingers strumming
Each star twirled around the cave declaring dreams.
Then shot away, a lively burst
Now heard, so abled, kissing first
Dear Ellory, then off to countryside, Wish-granting!

I rather liked this text RECord, so wanted to REmix a little something for it. Not great, rather simple, but oh well :)
I haven't edited much since HS, but I just got new film software so I wanted to try something.. (so be forgiving of newbie mistakes?) :)
I love when people remix trailers (the Toy Story/Inception and Scary Poppins ones are my favorites) so I just thought I'd have a little fun trying to clip MMM into a thriller trailer, haha.
<3
Not the best executed, but that's what remixing is for, right?
open to critiques, as always :)

Today is my 3 year hitRECordversary! so I wanted to remix something I've previously done.
This isn't the best remix, there could probably be better layers added and possibly text that make this less one-dimensional, but my hands couldn't do it. Critiques are certainly welcome - if there's one thing I've learned, it is that editing is not my strong point!
it's been a really good three years, I'm excited for what is to come.
and for some reason, it won't let me resource the hR logo: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/22654
