Alright, this isn't all visual REmixes. I didn't want to make another misc album, so I added other stuff that would kind of fit here too.
a tribute to A Tribute.
I loved phen's record so so so much & wanted to do something with it. I had originally planned on painting, but I don't paint well... so...
not sure I'm quite satisfied with the final product. I played around with a ton of other things for awhile, but kept coming back to square one, so I figured I'd keep it simple.
<3
This project grew out of my future of moving in the fall and a collection of bottle lids.
My dad loves entering soda sweepstakes, haha, and I always enter the codes for him and one day decided to just start collecting all the lids. For my move in the fall I wanted to create something hitRECord related and thought I could my bucket of lids finally to use. I printed out 64 of my favorite image records & mod podged them to the blue spray painted lids. I'm still not entirely sure how I'm going to arrange them in the end, so this isn't the final part of the project. (If you have any suggestions on ways to display them, let me know :) <3)
***note: still cleaning up resources - at first did it by #s hurriedly, so I'm sorry if I made a mistake & resourced you by accident! those should all be changed by now & still working to find 3 more resources that got lost in the mix :(***
started much in the same way that 'it happened in a river' did.
i imagined it the beginning of a poster for a retelling of 'oh my darling clementine' but I didn't want to ruin it with text; i also didn't know whether to make it romantic or eerie, so I tried to stay middle of the road.

Newish to hitRECord, so I haven't seen all the gems of the site, but found honeyboy's text today and was inspired to make a poster :) I love his text because I think some line at the top applies to us all & I would like to think the last lines apply to every one of us <3
I tweeked the words a little to make it a more general message.
I know the one line comes out of the heart, but I personally liked it that way.. if you think other wise feel free to let me know
the fonts are arvo & jrhand from fontsquirrel.com (commercial use)
edit: I *just* now noticed the punctuation inconsistencies - if someone wants the revised copy, let me know
There could be more to this, but I couldn't find pictures similar to what was in my head. Uploading in the chance that maybe someone wants to take it a step (or two or three) further.
Abbreviated IslandProphet's unleash because I didn't want it to be too text heavy, but hope I didn't ruin your writing IP <333
it started with ellieyah's water picture & shortly after I saw TaraMarie's photo. I found the face very haunting & a story started to build in my head.
There's something I find very alluring about small town tragedies (I know that may sound weird..) It's probably rather that I love small towns altogether, little southern places that haven't progressed much since 1960... there's an air of mystery about them.
visual remix inspired by unlexiuh's record telescopic eyes
sorry the file is on the small side, was remixing to use as an icon and ending up liking it more than expected - then tried to create it on a larger scale and it just didn't look the same, so uploading this. <3
&LAURAKWxo your picture might not seem obvious in this remix, but the hair in the original is kind of a background texture :)
A month and 3 days overdue, I finally carved out time to sit and make the lovely Mrs.Tibbs23 her (not-so) secret santa gift. A thousand apologies for the lateness <333.
Most of my remixes are picking out a line from something that resonates with me and then making something with it. For me, most of my creativity strikes in loneliness, surrounded by my thoughts & unplugged.
The font is wc mano negra from fontsquirrel.com.
I've always had a love for when you bloom by dianasev & I wanted to make a printable. The file should be 8 x 10.5 inches so it fits nicely on a normal sheet of paper & you can print, crop & frame if you want (those were my intentions.)
If you'd like this without the text, just let me know and I'll upload it.
Thank you GwenInterrupted for making WONDERFUL subject albums, very helpful in this!
xoxo
because I've been aching to do something designy & fun.
also maybe because I secretly want two hitRECorders to fall in love so there will be a hitRECord wedding. because i think that would be amazing. :)
the fonts are Bebas & Edwardian Script. Apologies for any non-centering/other wonky-ness, I have crappy computer programs.
A REmix of amysz's bird tiny story because I loved it so much & wanted to do something with it. I really liked the message, so I was just trying to make something visual that I could perhaps print out and frame on my wall. I dunno.
Let me know if you rather I upload it without the words? I'm still unsure about the text placing. Advice, yes please!

Slowly (but surely!) trying to paint some things that may go with RECorderBelle's poem. This is meant to be the forest through which the child runs.
Should I paint Ellory herself within it? I didn't know whether to have her running, placed closer to the cave, or in a standing position where we would see about her shoulders on up between the nearest trees.
Trial & error.
I liked the black and white version, but just wanted it to pop a bit more. Thought about a different color scheme, but liked the traditional blue & red for fall formal at least. I looked at this poster for reference (http://hitrecord.org/store/hitrecordmoviesposter.html) so that's why there isn't ticket information & such.
Improvements that could be made:
-real shadowing on the banner (I just did a drop shadow, but there would be different shadows in a real banner)
-actually I don't even know if I like the banner. It needs some magic.
-stars on stage 3D/glowing (I tried, but failed, so threw away the idea)
-other 3D fun stuff...
I'm an amateur at photoshop so of course there are a ton of other improvements that would be great, but those were the ones that came to mind.
<33
Came to me while sitting in my backyard looking at the flowers.
A lot of art comes from pain, but I, personally, think the best comes from love.
I used the different flowers to represent the difference in each person - and no matter the differences, we are all deserving of the same love.
<3
the font is rabiohead.
I've been hankering to do a remix lately & every time I think about it, I think of Lucinda.Lewis' goutte de pluie. I love the picture & even when I first saw the picture I thought it resembled a grammaphone. So this came.
Halfway through I realized it was kind of Thumbelina-esque, haha, but I like Thumbelina so I guess that's alright :) <3
“put on those headphones lonely sleepwalker, let the music fill your bones, let the night fill your lungs. even ghosts dance, spirits swing, and skeleton trees move. the moonlight is alive lonely sleepwalker; let the music fill your bones, let the night fill your lungs.”
I love so much of your writing and really wanted to do a visual remix of something. This is inspired by your poem 'if you need to wake up, dance'. Not terribly "christmasy" but I hope you still like it! Wishing you the best this holiday :) xxoo

inspired by black like me passage:
"one can scarcely conceive the full horror of [prejudice] unless one is a parent who takes a close look at his children and then asks himself how he would feel if a group of men should come to his door and tell him they had decided - for reasons of convenience to them - that his children's lives would henceforth be restricted, their world smaller, their educational opportunities less, their future mutilated."
