Hey Joseph,
Or is it Mr. Gordon-Levitt? Wow, I like to think I troll the web a fair bit but I wasn’t aware of the existence of hitrecord.org until I read the piece on you in the New York Times (web edition).
I am a filmmaker out of Mumbai, India and I’m grabbing this opportunity with both hands to say hello and tell you I loved Brick.
The Lookout looks cool too but I’m not holding out too much hope for Killshot, at least not from the trailer…
I’m downloading Escargot and Assholes as I type this. The missus and I were in Paris at the end of 2006 and we love the city but oh to be able to do something as cool as the project you and Rian planned…
Hey do you think it would be possible for me to get your opinion on a short film I made? It’s only online at the On The Lot website (for now), it’s called Intent and I’d love to know what you thought of it.
The URL is http://films.thelot.com/films/7828
And oh yes, I’m also a short story writer (have been for ten years).
After a couple of half-hearted attempts at getting something published conventionally I’ve turned to the web with the brave (or foolhardy) intention of publishing a short story a day for an entire year,
The venture is called 365Fiction and you can access it from www.365fiction.com or www.topwritecorner.com
So many plugs, so little time.
Keep up the good work though, (I’m sure you already know this but…) you’ll do just fine.
Much respect,
Elvis D’Silva

Elvis,

I like Intent. I like the intro you made for it too. Are the two characters you play different from eachother or the same? One speaks English, one speaks--damn, what language is spoken in Mumbai? One speaks to camera; the other respects the fourth wall. One introduces us to his work about suicide; the other works too much and kills himself. And I wouldn't give away the ending like that unless at least one of those guys gave it away in the intro.

I wanna check out the fiction too. A story every day, eh? Something to patterns. repetition. rhythm. every damn day. religious, literally. looking forward to it.

Thanks for the stuff,

J
